Well.....my WH came over to get the girls yesterday so they could spend the night with him.....first time with them spending the night with daddy.
I was on the phone when he walked in....when I got off...he wanted to know who it was. Being and honest person I just told him it was a friend of mine. It was.
He then asked me what I was going to be doing....I said I wasn't sure....but I thought about going to the races with a friend. (this friend is a woman by the way....no threat to him)
I gave him all the #'s he could contact me at just in case.
Well...the races got rained out so we decided to stop at a small diner for something to eat before heading home.
We were there for about 15 minutes and my friends cell phone rings......guess who it is.
H saying that our oldest wants to come home. I talked to her and she said she could wait. I had already ordered my food.....and it was taking forever. He told me to just call when I got home and he would bring her home.
Well.....15 minutes later...another call from H.
Watning to know if my friend can just drive me by there to get her. Well....we were in the next county...and my sister lived on the OTHER side of the next county over. Thought this was a little silly.....since I would have to drive by my house and go all the way out there and then home.....and my friend didn't want to do that anyway.
BUT....I think there was an ulterior motive in his calling....he didn't want to know if I would pick her up really I don't think.
He went on to ask.......
HIM: Are you with your boyfriend?
ME: I don't have a boyfriend.
HIM: I tried to tell her that you may have had plans for the whole night.
ME: What kind of plans would I have for the whole night?
HIM: I don't know. Just call me when you get home...and I will bring her home if she still wants to come home.
I didn't make it home until almost 12:30 a.m. because of thick fog and my friend is uncomfortable driving in it.
I get home and notice that my H just tried to call so I call his new cell phone.
He's already in town!!!!!!
I didn't tell him what time I would be home.....just that I would try to make it as soon as possible.
So......what the heck was he thinking just leaving the other 2 at my sisters with her....taking our oldest and going ahead to bring her into town when he doesn't even know when I'm going to be home? He doesn't have a key so he wouldn't have been able to let them in to wait.
My friend says she thinks he wanted to see exactly who I was with.....none of his business anymore anyway right?
When he got here.....my friend was still here.
He dropped her off....gave me a couple of what are you up to looks.....hung around for a few minutes and then left.
What's up with this man?
OH! I noticed yesterday too.....when I got into the truck to get something out of the console.....he left his wedding band in there. Knew he left it in there.....what a slap in the face for me. Do I ask him to take it back and keep it.....or just keep it myself and not say anything to him?
This is the testing I mentioned that he'd probably do. You did awesome! Try not to let it bother you, because you've got nothing to hide. It's HIS insecurities that are coming to surface. Good. Let him wonder what you're up to. You're right, it's none of his business (but stay good and tell him if he asks).
It's great that he's been put in your shoes for a little while. Hopefully it will pull him out of the fog some more.
That's a tough one about the wedding ring. My H had taken his off last year sometime (way before all of the crap happened), but it was because he bent it all to hell at work. I regret that I didn't put it someplace safe, because now we can't find it.
So, your choices are to leave it there, to leave it there and tell your H you saw it there, to take it and put it someplace safe and tell H you did that, OR to take it and say nothing and see what his reaction is (if any). I don't know what I'd do, personally. All of the scenerios could turn into LB's, or they could all be a turning stone.
Karen
MP--
Put the ring away for safe keeping, and if he asks tell what it is that you have done for his protection.
My H still has his on and will not take it off, will be interesting to see what it is that he does when we leave here on the 10th. I asked about it one time and he said that he was still married, duh! But having an EA with friend from 20 years ago, not for 20 years, how do they not see that as a slap in face?
Think your H just wanted to be nosey, and that is why he brought D home, is she ok? was it a legite thing or something that he instilled in her mind to allow him to be nosey?
Keep smiling makes them wonder what you are up to and when you say nothing you are being truthful!
Dawn

MP...
As they say on the commercials for deodorant...
"Never let em see you sweat!!"
You did great. I would not say a word, and that way he will not know what you are thinking. He is testing, like a child does to a parent, to see how far you will go before they get to you and get a reaction. Don't give him one! Come here and vent. We will get you through it. In the end, he will begin acting like an adult. You owe him nothing...no explanations, no reasons!
Stay strong!!
*Go condidently in the direction of your dreams.*
Trueheart
