Least anyone have any doubt this morning that HumbleFish (aka REM on gloryb.com) has been playing with us for the last two months. Take at look at her post on gloyb.com TOW board from this morning. I vote for no one ever responding to her again. She got the idea last night.

Z
_________________________ http://www.gloryb.com/board/messages/11439.html
Posted by REM on July 28, 2001 at 01:09:36
I have to apologise to Diane first and formost - Sorry I jumped into conclutions I think I coinfused you with someone else - anyway that is not an excuse and 'I'm sorry.Second I sholdn't post all over the "world" and run "home" and tell - It'schildish!!!!I have no excuse for my idiotic behavour - all I can say is that I'm in an emotional mess and sometimes I bahave like an idiot - thanks for putting me straight. Thanks for the update Z! I was gonna go hunt *it* up, so you saved me the time and waste of effort.
Fish is now dead, as far as I am concerned. I would much rather help and support those that are here for the right reasons and trying to make their lives better.
Have a great day!
Trueheart

trueheart,
That's exactly why I posted this, to let people know so that we can let people know that there is no doubt about her now. We can all move on to more productive things.
I do have to say one thing though. I learned a lot over the last few weeks from HumbleFish's threads. I did not learn from her, there was no real substance there. But I did learn a lot from the other MBers who posted to her. And I learned a lot from the thought I had to put into my replies. So all in all, not much was lost.
And since she was playing with us, I have no problem with the fun you, STL and others had at her expense. I don't think it really bothered her either. It's all part of the game when a person crashes a board to play with people.
Z
------------------
He loves not who does not show love.
----William Shakespeare

I would have to say that Humblefish is in definete need of help. But obviously the sort of help that no one here can offer her, she's got some deep rooted psychological problems.

I think I said that last night in my ONE post to her, well, to everyone here, NOT to reply back, as that seemed only to continue to FUEL her....I - also - went to Gloryb to find her. Was able to, and saw that this was one gigantic JOKE, or pity party from one very inebriated sicko!
A further look into their mindset, I discovered that it is truly the BASER elements of human life (aka. "sex, lust") that seem to keep those people going.....lots of threads all talk about those baser topics. Not much of substance over there. I was intrigued, initially, to note that they ALL seem to have NO HIGHER goal in life than to enjoy their lusts and longings. How sad to miss all that life has to offer us if we dig within ourselves to find the true treasures God has for us.
I will never reply to her alcohol-induced rantings again.
I do agree that some of us may have wasted some time and energy on her, but not all. It has been very insightful into how some people really are out there in the world, and is scary to think that this is the web that some of our BS's are tangled in. It's clear to see though, that if our BS's have any intelligence (like I believe mine does), that he couldn't possibly put up with something like this for long. I really think HF wants help - and she sure needs it. It's a shame she messed up her chances here, and probably on gloryb as well.

Hopefully a lesson has been learned.
I have been disturbed by some of the responses given to people, and yes, some posts like Humblefish's are infuriating, but maybe we can all look past the "button pushing" and not get caught up in the game?
You know....I think we've been royally HAD.
Consider this:
It's summertime. School is out in most places. The internet is a grand place for bored, teenaged mischief makers to stir up a stink.
Maybe the posts in question are childish because the poster is a CHILD! Easy enough to log on in a parent's name...or lie about one's age on the 'net.

LC, et al:
IN HF/DF's case, the postings began before school was out, so I do not think--in this particular case--that it is an issue.
Infantile and immature behavior, however, is not only a function of age. While the majority of my recent posts were essentially tongue-in-cheek, note that in between the cheekiness there is a message of constancy: for her to get professional help and the restate the basic premises of MB.
Is responding a waste of time? Yes and no. Yes, because there are so many who can benefit from the time and responding to people like Fish detracts from interacting with others. No, because there is some benefit: even as the postings go from a concious effort to reach out and help on people's behalf (see early posts to Fish as an example), when the tone takes a turn south, there is still much to be learned.
Again, citing the Fish example: it does give an insight into the motivations and thought processes of an OP (not that all of them are identical, but invariably one can find commonalities in attitude, etc.). This is an important step, for in understanding OPs, BS can apply that knowledge in their Plan A strategy. Knowledge can be power.
So, it is a fine line: to post or not. If it is a "new" member drive-by-type post, that is one thing. But with a consistent poster, such as Fish, if one looks at the totality of the messages, the confusion and, yes, even pain, become apparent. So, in the spirit of MB, you cast them a lifeline and try to help. After many months, just as in a Plan A, you can see if there is any progress or impact. In Fish's case, the principles have not sunk in, ergo the present tack: beat them with bluntness, let them know that their "game" is transparent. If that doesn't work, do what the Indians did in days gone by: bury the fish so that you can plant a new crop.
Godspeed,
STL
