HOW CAN THIS BOARD ALLOW SUCH SOPHOMORIC POSTS SUCH AS REALITYCHECKS TOWARDS SEEN THE LIGHT. Are there not rules that we adhere to when we sign up and register? Are you going to allow the seemingly blatant attack of people on the board? This place needs to get some control and the rules need to be instated. I believe we are all adults and can fight our own things, but to even suggest immoral behavior amongst those of us that are trying to handle and fix our marriages like that is plain disrespectful to MB in general. I hope you take some precautions and delete the post.

A suggestion as part of the upgrades that have been ongoing on here (if it's possible) would be to add on an 'ignore user' feature. I know it can be done in a chat room setting. Is it possible for a message board as well? If it is, I would personally spread the news around. ![[Linked Image from marriagebuilders.com]](http://www.marriagebuilders.com/forum/images/icons/smile.gif)
Karen
Karen:
Depending on the features of the bulletin board software, it may be possible to block, ignore or ban a user, indefinitely or for some period of time.
Not sure which software they use, but--to cite an example--YaBB (Yet Another Bulletin Board) does allow different user filtering techniques to accomplish that.
This is a high-traffic site. Much of what can be accomplished is governed by software/hardware configurations for this site and for the server(s) that deliver it.
But I am in full agreement that comity needs to be restored. Some venting should be encouraged. Better to LB here than at a WS or OP (or even BS). In the emotional turmoil caused by the rollercoaster ride from hell, tempers can flare. That should be taken into account also.
But there is a huge difference in responding in a thread where the passion of the moment can be a factor and deliberately instantiating denigrating posts.
Long-winded way of saying there is no easy answer, isn't it?
[To see an example of a YaBB-enabled board, see http://www.atcsimulator.com click on the link to enter the site, then click the Forum navigation button at the top.]
Godspeed,
STL
[This message has been edited by SeenTheLight (edited July 28, 2001).]

Alexy,
Did you send this as an email? I think it may get their attention more quickly. They are volunteers, and as such, aren't on the boards all the time, and probably troubleshoot the email complaints first. Plus, Tempest is, or has been, moderating 4 of the boards.
My H is a moderator on a different site, and that's how he works.
Lor

Yes, we are here and reading.
As soon as I saw the post in question I closed it. Please know that Tempest and I can't possibly be here every minute, but both of us check the board regularly.
We are concerned with the recent turn of events and this post was in direct violation of the MB user agreement. http://www.marriagebuilders.com/cgi-bin/Ultimate.cgi?action=agree
Topie, I like your suggestion but for now the "ignore user" feature is at our own fingertips.
When we get a post like this, please resist the urge to reply and send email to Tempest or MBMagnolia. Our email addresses are in the upper left section of the screen. We will review the thread and close it, if that is appropriate.
I would rather the thread be closed without reply because the replies are exactly what the writer is looking for. But, that is my opinion of handling such an obviously inflammatory post.
Now let all of us, recent members and those members with us for some time, get back to Marriage Building and Welcoming those new to our group.
Peace to All
