My W's (WS) counsellor has recommended I read this first and then give it to her to read.<P>Has anyone read it? Any thoughts?

Elad,<P>haven't read the book but I did check it out on Amazon. The editorial and customer feedback seems very positive. I also like the author's perspective.<P>Have you purchase the book or are you just thinking about it ?<P>

Elad,<BR>Yes, I read it. Have recommended it several times.<P>Any reading you can do is good. It helps sort out the marbles. It really does help to read. You can go to the library and get alot of books that will help - there are several different dewey decimal sections that have to do with relationships, marriage, or just plain old gender psychology.<P>If your W will read - that is good.

Thanks guys...<P>Yes, I have already ordered the book.<P>after shock:<P>You're right...if the WS reads it is good and so far my W has read and passed along to me a couple of other books that I would recommend to others here:<P>"Sexual Detours"<P>"The Truth About Love"<P>"The Road Less Travelled"<P>All recommended to her by her counsellor. The positive thing about the first two (My W gave them to me after she read them) is that they promote the primary relationship and discuss how to strenghten the bond between H & W and how to understand your relationship better.<P>She is still reading "The Road Less Travelled" but says she thinks I will like it when she is done.<P>E

I have read "ATA" (twice) and highly recommend it. I am the BS. My H still has not read it (some 10.5 months after the end of the A), but our MC has suggested it and he says he will.<P>If you want another perspective (christian based), "Torn Asunder" is a good one. The terms used may be a little "loaded", but it is otherwise a very good book and has a slightly different take compared to SAA and ATA. Freddy:<P>The point of "Sexual Detours" is that an A is a cover story for some other problem facing the WS and the relationship.<P>I don't want to get too basic here but the focus is on the "why" of the A and that the WS has to look at themselves and see what the A is covering for that is missing in them. I think it is designed to prompt a good deal of introspection for both the WS and the BS.<P>It espouses that the real problem needs to be fixed before recovery can take place but it also indicates that that can happen and relationships can be restored and better. Kind of like finding the root cause to a problem and dealing with it.<P>I would recommend to both WS and BS.<P>E
