They would really stay away if we talk about a. 101 uses for glue guns, or
b. those really stubborn laundry stains, or c. Who's hotter? Harrison Ford, Tom Cruise, Sean Connery, Ben Afleck, or Mel Gibson [Linked Image from marriagebuilders.com].
hmmmmm..... Weiss (the Pretender),
or I was watching an ad for "The Brothers" with Morris Chestnutt or Shemar Moore...positively yummy!
I don't know much about glue guns, but I can talk about different crochet or knitting patterns...different kinds of yarn etc....
But my best work is in the kitchen...there is a gadget for EVERYTHING...what is the most unusual kitchen gadget you own? I had a special mushroom brush for cleaning...you guessed it, fresh mushrooms [Linked Image from marriagebuilders.com].
Cali

Allright, I'll bite.
Of course we're going to stop by. I feel guilty, because lately I haven't been around as much. Then I check in tonight, and bust in on the "woman only" post. Oh well.
I have nothing important to say here.
My favorite green shirt has some kind of stains on it, and they won't come out. Looks like grease of some sort. Any suggestions?
Something tells me I'd find more helpful advice on this thread than the guest towel one.
Can't comment on the hotties stuff because we all know that guys can't judge guys.

Yep Rick..... buy a new shirt.
Oh I'll bet you didn't think we would tell you that one?!?!?LOL! [Linked Image from marriagebuilders.com]
Well, you ladies heard about my George Clooney dream. Heartbroken (even though I didn't know much about the man), when I found out what a womanizer he was. So I have skipped to Mel Gibson. Isn't he still happily married? Used to like Harrison Ford but not too much now. Don't know the marital status of Sean Connery. Where are all the nice guys anyway? Sorry guys, don't mean that the guys posting here are not nice or anything.....oops think I am getting in deep poop here, better stop before I ......
My vote is for Mel Gibson. How about Sam Neil?
Household tip: Use vinegar to wash down your cutting board and knives when cutting meat. Wash with soap first, rinse then pour on some vinegar let set for a minute, then rinse.
L.

You mean there is actually normal life out there?!
Oxyclean is the best for laundry stains. It is an additive and even gets red koolaid out of white carpeting instantly.
LMH
------------------
Rejoice in hope, endure in affliction, persevere in prayer. Romans 12:12

Hey y'all!! [Linked Image from marriagebuilders.com]
I couldn't sleep tonight, so I get up thinking you know now I can go check up on my friends in GQ2. Man, am I out of touch! In I wander innocently only to first stumble upon this bit of MB wonder, You guys are the best, what a great smile at 3:45am!
I ditto the endorsement of oxyclean, got a tub of it by the washer at all times with my kids, it's safe on colors too, great stuff.
To be honest though, since it's a grease stain, you might want to try another trick I've used. At the car parts stores you can get spray bottles of heavy duty grease cleaner- meant for like scrubbing engines and tires- assuming it's not delicate fabric- spray some of that right on the stain and scrub it a little before you throw it into the wash (hot water), I also keep a bottle of that stuff nearby the washer- also works on crayon easier than goo- gone in my opinion! [Linked Image from marriagebuilders.com]

As for crocheting, I do that in spurts, (do it alot- then get sick of it and don't do it at all), how about you Cali? I like making special afghans, but problem is I always make them as Christmas presents and still don't have one myself, hmmm! Anyone else do that?
My favorite one I made one for my Grandma - that took me three years, it was done in 6 inch blocks and each block is a different inticate pattern, got the pattern at a craft shop. It was all cream colored, really a work of art, and I have a tattered old store bought blanket in my living room. LOL!
Thanks for the smile ladies, I'm off to go try to catch up a little before Mr Sandman catches up with me.

Hi ladies and Rick. Hey here's another tip for stains. Blue Dawn dish liquid. Seriously my friend told me about it when our kids played football just put it on the stain even if you're not washing it that day takes out grass stains and blood it's incredible. I'll have to try that Oxyclean. Now back to more important issues hot men. I think Richard Gere is hot. Well I need to go back to bed and catch a few more z's I can't type this early in the morning! Have a great day everyone!
cybil [Linked Image from marriagebuilders.com]

Cybil, I'm about to sign out for the night myself, finally tired out.. but I agree and have used Blue Dawn myself- it's great stuff, works wonders on carpets too! I had a spot near the front door that just wouldn't come clean with the steam cleaner- got some dawn and water in a dish and scrubbed it with a brush- then sucked it out with the cleaner- it was like new carpet- amazing! LOL, lovin this thread. Nite to all from NY!!

You make up a pan of liquid with it + water, and pour it down an ant pile, and it kills them! I did and it did. 'Course it took a LOT of Dawn, so be prepared to buy it by the gallon at Sam's or Costco, but I'd rather pour that into the ground than poison.
L
Okay--some of those great recipe threads--I missed some of the recipes, I didn't write them down.
Someone sent one in for creamy cucumber salad. I have to have that one. If anyone knows what I am talking about, send it again.
Oh, it's definately the Rock--I had to see the Mummy Returns twice cause he looked so cute in his scorpion costume.

Well - HELLO! Let's NOT forget Pierce Brosnan- its hard to believe anyone can look as good close up as he does!!! Does anyone else here have alot of Pampered Chef stuff like I do? What are your favorite items you have bought from them? I think my all time favorite is my chopper- it chops chicken breast really terrific! I also love their ice-cream scoop, ice shaver, cookie press, pitchers, and their mini-spatula- it gets into those tight corners in a pan of brownies. I dont like the stoneware at all though because its too heavy to me and makes me feel like Wilma Flinstone. However I do have friends who SWEAR by the stoneware! What do you all like best? lifeismessy

I like and use their garlic press. I agree their spatulas are the BEST!
Laundry stains???? I toss the stuff into my rag bag and head to JCPenney to replace it!
My tip...Buy a good iron....I have the heavy duty one from Black and Decker and the ultimate one from Rowenta.
When my kids were home they used the black and decker...Never used my Rowenta...Now my "H" does the ironing! [Linked Image from marriagebuilders.com] not kidding here.
D2k (psssst....I'm 47 today... Yikes....heading in the 5 0 direction!!!)
[This message has been edited by Discovery2000 (edited August 14, 2001).]

OK, I was gonna follow Calli's rules and not reply until Lupolady started treading on guy stuff - killing ants. This is obviously off limits to ladies because it involves warfare, especially when it's fire ants.
It takes guys to come up with ways to wage war and blow things up - otherwise, the US would probably not have a defense department.
So, for fire ants, I've tried various things other than poison including firecrackers, weed wackers, high pressure hoses, tillers, CO2 fire extinguishers, and flat beer. The only really effective method was charcoal lighter and a match, which also saved a lot of gasoline because I didn't have to gut the grass anymore. All of this presumes that negotiation with a lot of talk about "feelings" and "caring" won't work.
WAT

I'm not sure if anyone already mentioned it. But considering Rick37's dilemma with the stained shirt....

Rub about a quarter sized amount of Lestoil on the stains, let sit.. then wash in warm water. My mom taught me that.. and it always works.. especially on salad dressing and motor oil!
Great Thread!!!

Cleo - PLEASE!!! I think men like to be insulted (for fun) by ladies because it promotes male bonding.
Let's face it, there are gender differences (not just physical ones) that should be celebrated rather than ridiculed.
My favorite gender comparison scenario is this:
If two unacquainted women show up at a party wearing exactly the same dress, there seems to be an instantly created animosity between them.
If two guys show up wearing exactly the same loud tie, they have an instantly created new buddy.
Am I right? Ladies, you all know I love you dearly.
WAT

Coolest gadget in my kitchen? A cherry pitter. I am going to make cherry jam this weekend.
Coolest thing to happen in my kitchen? Sex with Mr. Job! [Linked Image from marriagebuilders.com] My best work is in the kitchen also Cali.
Hottest fantasy? Sex with Antonio Banderas in my kitchen and I'm thin again. Oh all right, sex with Antonion Banderas anywhere, even if I'm not thin again. Gotta go for those Latin lovers. I used to live in the part of Spain where he is from. I was a fan long before he broke into American film and his European films are much better than anything he has made here. I am like Morticia from the Adams Family. Talk to me in a foreign language and I am yours baby. But what the heck does he see in Melanie? What an airhead with a puffy voice to go with it. Ewww!
MJ

I gotta agree with WAT. You insult us, we come. The bond that ALL men share.
Heck, now even Antonio. We're bonded. I love you man.
I'm living vicariously now.
--Jeffers
