Please, can someone tell me in idiot language how I can delete and edit posts I've written? It seems quite a few people who know me are reading them and I only came here to vent and be myself to people who dont know me - i feel a bit naked now. Please tell me what to do.
Dancer

Click on the littel symbol to the right next to the sunglasses and it says edit. You can go back and edit all or part of your mesage.
Lora

That's right. Just highlight the print you want to edit or delete then hit the delete key.

In the past we had the authority to delete our posts. Now the admin have to do it. I had to do this once. I contacted the admin/moderators and Steve Harley via email and asked them to delete my threads and all my replies. They did so. I don't know if they will anymore and what their policies are now..
You can do a search of all your posts and edit the text out of the message.. and paste.. "Deleted for my protection" or something there so the post won't be blank and no one will question as to why you did that.
when you find your messages.. click on the pencil paper icon above your posting and a window will open for editing.. in the message box.. press ctrl + a and it will select all of your text.. now press ctrl + x and it will delete it quickley.. then for an edit message.. type "Deleted for my protection" or what ever. Then hightlight the text you just typed and press ctrl + c and press submit.
On the next remaining messages.. open them the same way, press ctrl + a to select all of your text THEN press ctrl + c to paste your edited "protection" message over the text you want out. Press submit and your done .. It may take a while.. but at least what you wrote will be gone... you could then post a message to the main GQ area and ask that everyone delete their text responses to you if you so desire for that .
Hope this helps.
------------------
Semper,
Husband2You
*****
Don't make me promises
Baby you never did know how to keep them well
I've had the rest of you
Now I want the best of you
It's time for show and tell
'All or Nothing' O-Town
