Initailly after D-day the infidlelity diet was great. Now I've switched to the "eat whatever is lying around even if you're not hungry" diet!! [Linked Image from marriagebuilders.com] Any ideas on how to "restart" the other short of getting more shocking news from H?????

Hello [Linked Image from marriagebuilders.com]...
I took a break over the summer...luckily didn't gain anything back...but losing weight and getting healthy IS VERY important to H...one of his top EN's...so as the Harley's say...it is in my best interests to meet that EN...
I've had to get to the heart of WHY I was eating...and change my actions... do something else instead of eating...
I did a lot of emotional eating...filling myself up because my H was not...or so I thought...actually filling myself up because I DID NOT VALUE MYSELF...and fill myself up....I am in charge of that...
Much of changing your eating habits is really changing your thinking and feeling habits....

Cali
------------------
Live Impeccably In Your Word.
Don't Take Anything Personally.
Make No Assumptions.
Do Your Best Always.

You're not gonna like this ...
Exercise and eat the right foods. Lose the junk food.
Eat "live" food; veggies, fruit, nuts and grains.
I was on the IWLP (Infidelity Weight Loss Program) last year and I'm still a size 6, borderline 4.
Jo

yep... 38 pounds Since May for me. woo-hoo!
Infidelity Diet gave me a jump-start... and I kept going. I eat 3 tiny... mostly protein meals a day.... every now and then I eat something I love to not deprive myself.... and exercising 4 times a week... AND TONS of water!!! That adds exercise, ya know... going back and forth to the restroom all the time... [Linked Image from marriagebuilders.com]

Maintaining my 40lb weight loss is pretty easy by sticking to Atkins basic concepts. Just watch the carbs, you don't have to go overboard, stay away from junk, sweets, and the high carb meals.

I'm not wild about the Atkins diet...but I do use a 'modified' protein diet...a not-so-strict Zone Diet...I keep protein between 40-50%...carbs--40-50% and fat--25-30%. I found it has really helped my blood sugars stay even...that combined with exercise 3-4 X per week.

Cali

Since separating in mid-July, I've dropped about 35 lbs. Lost six inches from waist, get comments almost every day. Best one i have gotten was from W last weekend - "wow, you've really lost weight. You look good. New pants and belt?" She sure noticed something.
I am not following a diet, just eat less, exercise more, and no sweets or junk food. Biggest difference for me is being the one in control of what i cook and eat-makes it much easier.
The weight thing has done more for my PMA and self-esteem than almost anything else. I feel good about myself physically, and am getting there emotionally and spiritually. My W may not see changes in the latter two yet, but she sure sees the weight change.
One diet idea-view food as your spouse. Sometimes you will want to devour it, others you'll want to pitch it in the garbage. In the long run, you'll get just what you need!
Cheers.

Kid! I'm laughing and I don't do that much lately. I started the infidelity diet at the end of March. After I lost 15 pounds because everything tasted like cardboard, I started on Slim Fast. I've now lost 54 pounds! I take 2 shakes a day to work (along with two fruits or a fruit and some carrots). I walk at lunch every day. I look sooooo good! Too bad my H looks at the floor instead of me!

Hi. I am the husband of WS, and have been on the "infidelity diet" for a little over a month. The problem is I didn't need to be. I have lost way too much weight. Instead of looking better, I now look worse. I can relate to the comment of food tasting like cardboard. It also makes me nauseous. hoping that this will turn around soon. I am hoping that a plan of exercise will help me to put back on the right kind of weight when my appetite returns. I guess my problem is how to kick start in reverse.
BrokenH

I, too, was on the "Infidelity/Divorce" Diet. Lost 40 lbs. in the span of 4 months, after H walked out to be with OW. I, too, probably overate in response to my H's lack of attention and emotional cruelty. But what's even more amazing is that OW apparently gained the 40 lbs. that I lost!!! Ex-H and OW are now married and apparently she has continued to gain weight. I gained almost 10 back, but intend to lose it again with the help of Dr. Atkins! I look and feel better now than I have in years. I tell everyone that I lost 240 lbs. of ugly fat - and that 200 of it was him!!!! (Ex-H). LOL!!!!!

I lost 40 pounds on the Atkins diet and have kept it off for 3 years. My doctor is thrilled with what it did for my cholesterol and triglycerides, not to mention the fact that I NEVER get sick any more [bolstered immune system] and have as much energy as when I was in my 20's.

[This message has been edited by Dana114 (edited September 06, 2001).]
