And when the LORD thy God shall deliver them before thee; thou shalt smite them, [and] utterly destroy them; thou shalt make no covenant with them, nor shew mercy unto them:<P>And stay ye not, [but] pursue after your enemies, and smite the hindmost of them; <P>This day will the LORD deliver thee into mine hand; and I will smite thee, and take thine head from thee;<P> And to the others he said in mine hearing, Go ye after him through the city, and smite: let not your eye spare, neither have ye pity: <P>They meet with darkness in the daytime, and grope in the noonday as in the night.<P>They know not, neither will they understand; they walk on in darkness: all the foundations of the earth are out of course.<P>Lover and friend hast thou put far from me, [and] mine acquaintance into darkness.<P>For the enemy hath persecuted my soul; he hath smitten my life down to the ground; he hath made me to dwell in darkness, as those that have been long dead.<P>Woe unto them that call evil good, and good evil; that put darkness for light, and light for darkness; that put bitter for sweet, and sweet for bitter!<P>That day [is] a day of wrath, a day of trouble and distress, a day of wasteness and desolation, a day of darkness and gloominess, a day of clouds and thick darkness,<P>I've had a BAD DAY today. Can you tell? I have a feeling tomorrow will be a worse day. But there are a great many things to give comfort. Strange the things we find comforting if we look for them. Strange indeed. <P> jd<P>
