I see many common, repeating thoughts in this website. Here are some things that I have learned that hopefully will help others.<p>1. Life IS unfair
2. Living alone is not a death sentence. Being alone and unhappy surpasses living with someone who is a constant source of misery. But then you must be certain you are not self centered. If you are unable to live by yourself, you are not ready for a relationship.
3. You don&#8217;t know the sexual history of the OP. When you contract an STD, you get the gift that keeps on giving. Your life will never be the same.
4. I have not found a single source, even the Bible, claiming that marriage is an institution of eternal happiness.
5. The only person you can control is you. You can permit someone else to destroy you emotionally and spiritually.
6. Sex outside of marriage, at anytime, is destructive. Period.
7. Adults &#8220;get paid&#8221; to make adult decisions. This calls for assessing, evaluating and, yes, even judging. If you have no decision-making base, you can&#8217;t make a good decision.
8. Alcohol and drugs are bad news. I don&#8217;t know any successful, role model alcoholics or druggies
9. You will start feeling better about yourself when you do what is right. And a lot of the times, that is the toughest part.
10. How parents act will affect their children forever.
