Now THIS is what I'm talking about! Thanks for the posts, made my morning.
C&I- How EXACTLY DO you fold those fitted sheets anyway. I never have been able to get that right, oh well.
And actually, I'm going to just go ahead an start to put the "pointys" down on all the silverware. It'll probably slap me in the face, but I think that if her fog lifts a little, she'd probably see the humor in her attempt to escape my "CONTROL". I guess I make enough $ to go ahead and buy new silver ware when they get all dull and corroded.
Orchid- Yeah, that sounds like MY office. I have several "piles" (old bills to file, new bills, misc, to-dos, etc...), but thankfully W gave me a some baskets to put them in so they look better.
BIN- AH, MAN- the TP HAS to go over the TOP. That's not like a controlling behavior or anything, it's a RULE! Actually, if you look carefully at the roll, the embossed side (raised) is made so that it shows if the TP rolls off the top. I wouldn't go so far as to crease the end into a "V" like they do in hotels, though.
Thanks again folks!

I've enjoyed this thread. Being a messy type myself, (I do make sure the knives are point down, never worried about forks much though)
Don't really have any real housework triggers but thought ya'll might enjoy hearing a quickie about my mom and her H.
They get 2 newspapers everyday because he doesn't like for her to touch his newspaper before he reads it. He is the most easy going laid back guy I've met but by goodness, don't touch his newspaper. She is not even suppose to get the coupons out on Sunday.
And I thought my STBXH's obsession with his truck being spotless inside and out was wierd.
Have a great weekend everyone!!! PP

You guys got it all wrong about the silverware!
You are supposed to put it in with part up and part down! The pointy ones mostly down. Throw it in there! The reason is, if its all one way the spoons and forks fit together and the one on the back doesnt get clean. Of course if you are truely obsessive you can either alternate them every other one, or you can wash it all first anyway.

Kevco;
No way buddy....not gonna tell you the trick to fitting corners together. I wouldn't be able to sleep at night worrying about you obcessing over that task....or possibly trying to "instruct" someone on the "proper way to do that" in the future....
Kevco, do us a favor and try a couple of the following...then get back to us with your finding...[yes, you can consider this therapy if everything you do MUST have a purpose!]
1) Go the the grocery store without your list
2) Go out for the mail in your socks
3) Throw your bath towel over the side of the tub instead of neatly hanging it up...check it at the end of the day...it will be dry. Then use it again the 2nd day!
4) This one may be too hard.....try NOT replacing the trashcan liner in your kitchen can this week.

My prediction is that NONE of these 'compromises in your organization' will have any delitarious affects on your life.
C&I
PS, just for the record, I am a Microbiologist so my house is CLEAN, CLEAN, CLEAN....just not necessairly organized to perfection. Actually, IMO ultimate organization impedes creativity. So....my disorder is for my children's sake
[ November 02, 2001: Message edited by: confused&insecure ]

AW, you're KILLING ME! I MUST KNOW THE SECRET TO THE FITTED SHEETS! Ok, really, I don't care that much about them, just curious.
Actually, I DO DO some of the suggestions you made. I can't go to the store w/o a list though, else I'll have to make about 4 trips (this usually happens when I decide to bake something and find out half way through that we're missing some key ingredient).
I actually DID get the mail in my socks last night. YEA ME!
Bath towel- Well, I DO always hang it, but I do use it on consecutive days though.
Yeah, I only really take the trash out if it's full or it stinks.
See I'm not TOTALLY neurotic, I just pick and choose them (grin).
K
