I've been 'out of commission' for a few days (recovering from minor elective surgery - tubal ligation), and I only saw this on another thread just now:

Topie --
Can I mention something? You say you go to your H with questions from this board. And that he doesn't like to talk about it.
Aren't you concerned with these LB'ers? Are you using this forum to bring up issues that you want your H to answer?
Since you said you talked to H about it, I assumed that you are in recovery -- guess I'm not sure about that part of your story. But it can't be a good idea to bring up these issues -- especially if you know you're making your H unhappy and that he doesn't want to talk about it.

Yes, my H and I are in recovery (about 6 months now). There's a fine line on some things he will talk about with me. That's not true... he'll talk about everything with me.. IF I ask him. I've already gotten the answers to all of the questions I needed answered months ago.
He's thought about coming on this board to share his experiences as a WS (I've told him how much his view is sought after - which you know is the case from people asking you all sorts of things). He also understands how much this board has helped me, and how much I still need it from time to time (I'm slowly breaking away though - I doubt I will ever break away entirely).
We both like the idea of helping people if we can. I tend to use the verbal (written on here of course) approach, and he's learning that skill more now.
I'm not really asking him these questions to find out for me... I'm asking him to try and help others. The last thing I want to do is to answer for him. If there is a question out on the forum that I think his answer could help someone with, then I'll ask him. I just don't want to put words in his mouth. And he isn't being forced to answer anything. If he doesn't want to answer something, then I let it go.
Thank you for pointing out the descrepancies in my posts regarding talking to my H about these issues. I think a lot of my asking him questions from here is also to get him involved in something I'm involved in.
Take care,
Karen
