I lit a white candle in the window tonight It’s one single candle, the road home it will light.
My Prodigal spouse is lost and alone In his mind, it’s been this way all along.
Time goes so slowly, but I want him to know He can see the light, and then follow
The light is lit for as long as it takes Then one day soon, I hope I’ll celebrate
Come home, dear husband, I miss you so Our home is lonely, empty, please show
I know we can talk, and love and just “be” There used to not be me or you, just “we”
My love knows no bounds, I’ll wait till eternity This promise I made, it’s still my certainty
I meant it for life, I’ll do it forever When you see my love, I hope you’ll remember
How we laughed so easily and cried together Any of the bad times, our love could weather
I never knew how far apart we had grown I never will again, take love for a “known”
It’s you I choose, it’s you I truly love I want to forgive, be loved and to love
Once again, forever and a day I lit a single candle in the window today
B.G.

Awesome lupo!!!
You said some many things so many of us feel.
Just this week I thought to get a 3 wick candle to use while my H is here. A family candle per say, to light each day that our family is together. 3 wicks, 1 for the past, 1 for the present, and 1 for the future. Am not sure thought it would be a good idea.
H will be here a week or so over Christmas and thought that it would be nice to honor our family all being present.
Again I like the poem have saved it. Dawn
My 16 yo D just read the poem and loved it!!
[ December 13, 2001: Message edited by: daybreak ]

Uh, in Plan A, long distance! WH will talk on phne for HOURS - IF - I call HIM. Otherwise, I don't exist! Too weird.
I think I'll send it (gotta go snail mail). We must be the ONLY couple without e-mail.
BTW, all. It's NOT a flame candle, it's electric! It WON'T go out until he's home....
Lupo
