Thought I would post some of my New Years Resolutions so that I can come back and remind myself of the things I want to accomplish this year.
It seems like an eternity that I have been someone I don't even know. I want and intend to get back the parts of me that were stolen by my WS affairs.
1. To Take control of my emotions.

2. To take pride in the person I was before and not degrade myself for mistakes I made in my marriage. I didn't choose to have the f**king affair. And I wasn't the only one making mistakes.
3. Understand that a lot of what SNL says is right on the mark. My situation falls in that catagory because wife doesn't choose me. She pretends to when in benefits her to do so.
4. To realize that I am and have always been a great person. And that there are MANY women who would love the chance to love me completely, and allow me to love them as well.
5. To find that person and build a new life based on truth, love, and mutual respect.
6. To fight like hell to get custody of my two youngest sons. Which won't be hard.
7. To look back on the 18 years before this happened and remember the happiness. Don't let 2001 ruin those memories for me.
8. To forgive my wife completely for her part in destroying the family.
9. To get the help I need as well as my boys. To make their lives, and their happiness my number one goal for the family.
10. To find God again. And never to allow another person to break the relationship I had with HIM.
Anyone else want to tell some of YOUR resolutions for yourself. Please do.
jd

Thanks jd,
I think your goals are terrific.
Personally, I would like to be able to answer this question in the next few days: "What does GOD gain by allowing me to live another year?"
Plus, I think I could be a better person overall by becoming more goal-oriented. Even if it is small goals, with a fresh goal list for each day. When I don't finish my goals, I will put them on the next days' goal list and keep them there until they all get accomplished.
