Hey Dawn,
One of those busy weeks at school. Had to work the concession stands for basketball games two days. Both cars were in the shop--so we have been juggling cars, and with 4 kids you know how that goes!!
Marriage-wise we seem to be heading for the big D. I am starting to not care. He has been so awful. I have been having tons of financial problems and my BIL and H have been hatching new ideas to try and solve them. My lawyer is on another vacation--imagine that. He billed me in the end of Dec. for another $1500. Amazing. That is how he gets to take so many vacations!!!
Work is going well..busy tho. I have to get to bed--I am going to a seminar tomorrow in KC and have to leave at 6:30. I will probably sleep through it
How are you doing....any good news? I haven't been posting a whole lot...usually try to read a little bit tho. I would still like to find and answer for this mess....but am starting to realize what kind of damage he has caused in this family. I don't know if I should forgive and forget this time....and besides....he hasn't shown any inclination to fight for our marriage...or for his kids. How very sad. Nite...

Well, another interesting day. Had to be up near KCI by 8:30---of course I was late and got stuck in traffic.
The seminar was pretty good. Was just leaving it when my daughter calls and says she was hit by a truck driving home from school. She wasn't hurt--but quite a bit of damage to the van. We just got the van back after being in the shop for 3 weeks. It was a $1000 dollars of repairs---it is probably not even worth that. What a mess. Anyway, she just got her liscense and when this happened this afternoon--she didn't know what to do. A guy with a big truck for a local industry ran into her when turning. He got out of the truck, apologized to her, gave her an insurance number and insurance phone number. They did not call the police. Well, she called me when she got home and told me about the accident. She said he admited fault and checked to see if she was hurt. I told her you never leave an accident without calling the police. So, she called the police and then noticed that she didn't get his name. By this time, I did get a little mad. I asked her where her head was? Anyway, I am still in KC--she calls the company and the company says he doesn't live here. But they did give her his name. The police were here when I got home. He was really nice. We still don't have all the info from this guy--but hopefully, he will cooperate. What a mess? We have just had the worst black cloud hanging over this family for so long.
I did get the Grand Am back tonight tho---the same daughter backed into our Bronco with that. $1400 dollars of repair work.
Had to drive by H's apt tonight in KC...that left me with a pretty sick feeling....all in all another yucky day. Better run and get the kids to bed.
How are you doing?

Wow!! Yuck what a day!!!
How old is this daughter? I can't imagine what your insurance will do. It's so hard to have them driving, we need them to so that they are less dependent on us and that they can haul the other kids around, but.... I feel for you. Knock on wood I have one that has been driving 4 years 2 speeding tickets and a parking ticket at CMSU. The other has been driving for 4 months with the liscense but a year with the permit. She got followed home from work one night, nothing more then that I am lucky!!!
Was a tough weekend as I took my 20 yo S to Casper WY to meet his dad, hardest thing I have done. But he has himself in over his head with a girlfriend in VA and financially, then just didn't go to work, wasn't looking for a job or getting registered for school, was direspectful to me and would not help me out in any way around here, I just couldn't handle him being here any more. I was so sorry for him to leave!! Was a 10 hour drive so had lots of thinking time! Am not sure if that was good or not.
Having a rough time at school as my teacher just got back from an 8 week sick leave, depression, the new aide is working out well but so much is getting dumped on me, very stressful. My mom broke her tailbone, and is having some problems with that, she works at school and so I go and take her to the bathroom twice a day as she has a hard time getting up and down. My 16 yo D had a migarine Tuesday afternoon and slept in my office all afternoon, she is at her attendace quoteo (sp), having car problems too as mine has an oil leak,my tale of woe for the week!!!Ugh!!
And then WH e mails me tonight and says that a friend that he hadn't seen but once or twice in the last 25 years died Tuesday and he is going to fly to FL the 16th (OW's BIL or soon to be X, not sure, they were seperated) he's had kidney disease for years, and then heart problems on top of that. This is the 3rd leave he has taken since he got to UT the 1st of Sept, proably not a good thing. All to go see her, I have to wonder if he will bring her back with him this time, UGH!!
Dawn
Hope your week finishes out better, I am set up to go have coffee with my best friend from HS Sat afternoon. Should be fun, have lots to catch up, she knows about WH.

Wow, your week sounds like mine...if not worse.
I am sorry about your son. I am counting the days for my oldest daughter to be out on her own too. It is so hard--this constant struggle with trying to be all grown up and still a little girl.
I am sorry you H is going to Florida again. That has got to be hard. I just don't understand this--it is such a waste of "life time". I don't think God intended life to be this miserable.
We had a second little 4 year old die here of bacterial pneumonia. I keep thinking of those poor parents...and then my problems seem minute in comparison. At least my kids are all safe. I just keep feeling how much better our future could have been. I feel like we have lost so much. My brother keeps telling me not to look back...but it hurts so bad. Oh well....I sure hope things start looking better for you. You will be in my prayers. Pat

Yes, When you see what other people are dealing with, our problems don't seem so bad, I forget just how the days goes but something like "God only gives you what you can handle"
You said second little one to die? What seems to be going on? Have any of them been from Whiteman?

No, they aren't from Whiteman. One lived in Brookeside...the other was one of my student's sister. They were both 4.
It is sad. The one from Brookeside had been to the doctor and even had a chest x-ray on Friday. He died early Sunday morning. It is a fast bug I guess.
HIs parents are really devastated. My student's sister died right before Christmas. She was sick with the same kind of bug...had been sick for awhile...and then just died. It is so scary. When I think of that--I realize how small my problems are in comparison. But man, sometimes it just gets to me.
I really need to focus on "God grant me the serenity to accept the things...." I just want my life back. I don't want to go through all this.
I sat at a luncheon today with 4 other teachers today. They were all about my age...and they were all divorced. Don't you think that is sad???

It is so sad, the divorce rate in our country. It's acceptable and not looked down on, it's part of life, it happens, people give up they don't stick it out and try, it's too easy to go your seperate ways.
I was so very proud of the fact that we had married so very young and had been happily married for close to 20 years, we had such deverse backgrounds, it was amazing that we ever go together. We had worked hard at staying together, we weren't going to let divorce happen to us!! My WH had traveled on the average 2 weeks out of every month for the last 15 years. We handled this so very well and the kids and I were so well adjusted, always there to support each other and H, there were many functions that I went to alone as H was TDY, but the function needed to be attended.
We talked about how while he was on the road not to ever put ourselves in the way of temptation, that it wasn't worth it.
And then BAM!!! My world took a nose dive!!
It is so sad!!
Dawn
