Hugs and prayers to you... May God be with you and keep you feeling safe and comforted. Divorce is not the end of the world.
My mom has been married 4 times... She said, "Marriage is not the problem! Divorce is the problem!" She always maintains a sense of humor about life, in general.
Try to find some way to laugh about it and you won't be so hard on yourself re: failure... While reading over your recap of events, to me, it appears the only thing that you "failed" to do was to allow your ex to abuse you any further! That's all I could see! Take care and give yourself a break, you deserve it!

BINthereDUNthat,
Yes a sense of humor comes in handy, especially when times get a little rough.
I guess I feel like I failed because "my love" couldn't help him.
Sounds kind of corny but his childhood was not exemplary and I hurt for him so much I just wanted to help him.
I know that nobody can save anybody else. I know that each person has to be responsible for their own happiness...but just the same...I feel like I failed in that.
Thanks for your warm hearted response.
