How do I start having a MLC?
It would be so nice to just say F-it, quit my job, throw all responsibility aside, buy a motorcycle and disappear for a few months, hell, maybe even have a bunch of ONS along the way. Then, when I come back, I can just say it was a MLC and I wasn't responsible for the carnage that was left in its wake. Tell everyone its over, the past is the past and to forget about it, lets just move on like nothing happened.
How do I get rid of my conscience, squelch that darn voice that keeps me on the straight and narrow? How to I tell God to take a hike, that I don't need Him telling me what is wrong and what is right. I am a man, darnit, I know what is best for me!
Why is doing the right thing gotta be so darn difficult. Sorry all, just having a down day.

Find that button called a 'conscience' and yank it out!!! Make sure to disconnect it from your heart, brain, every nerve and other vital organ in your body. Then arrange to spend a weekend in the fog, close your eyes and make sure you bump into anyone and everyone you shouldn't be and offer or ask them to be your soulmate. You may need to pay or be paid (not sure). Oh yea, make sure no one who knows you sees what you are doing. Mix all this up and then go on a wild spending spree. You are sure to find some stranger who will say they are your life long friend help you spend your fortune. Whether you will have anything left over after this escapade is not important. Others will be there to pick up the pieces, you are counting on this right? Whether you become a burnden to your family or society, let someone else pick up the tab.
Do you need more instructions..... ? LOL! garsshhhh... no advice here. I KNOW how you feel though. Had those thoughts many times, 'cept I ain't a man.
THe rational, helpful MB'ers will be along in a minute, with all the reasons why some of us have a conscience (darnit!!!) and some of us lose it sometimes, and get away with it. I suppose the bottom line is we have to be true to ourselves, our beliefs, our convictions, and we know we'll be better off in the long run. sighhhhhh....

YES, YES, YES, perfect.
And now for the really sad part. We could take all this 'advice' about having a MLC, make a "How To" book out of it and retire by the end of the year!

well, let's see... some people say that MLC is not a real thing. That all it really is, is that the person is imature.. has not gown up yet and is acting out. A mature adult thinks about what is bothering them and resolves it, an inmature adult acts out what is bothering them... just like and child.
Soooooo, there's your hint. Act like a bratty kid, actually a bratty teen would be even better.
Since you are a mature adult, this will take some doing. Start slowly. Like maybe go buy that motorcycle you really want. Also get the American Flad headscarf, leather jacket, boots, etc to go with it. Now make sure it's a Harley 'cause that's a real MLC item. And the Harley dealers have these great clubs that do tours all the time. Start going on the tours (make sure you wear your head scarf and other Harley items).
When on tour there will be plenty of girlies, of all ages over 21, who will really want a ride on your hog.
Once you start this, just roll with it. And you will soon be in a full blown MLC.
Now we know that almost 99% of all the Harley bikers today are really MLC executives and other professionals, so you'll be in your element.
An asside to those of you preaching that he should not have a MLC 'cause yours was the worst thing you ever did (jusk kidding here ok?). You can say that now 'cause you already had your fun. Let him have his.
Hope this helps... new-beginning
Hope I didn't offend you, I was just trying to blow-off some steam. A lot of my friends tell me that they can tell when something is bothering me because I don't show my sarcastic side as much. I think that is what has kept me going through all of this, looking through all the pain and seeing some humor in all of it.
Anyway, just went for a walk during lunch and I feel great. I am blessed to live in the most beautiful place in the world, and I will argue that with anyone. It is the middle of winter, the sky is cloudless and the perfect color of blue, temperature of 50, sun as warm as can be, the high peaks are completely covered in snow, its absolutely perfect, well, except for all the goose poop. I guess even paradise has its little quirks.

Okay...during MLC, what do you do with the kids??
I know if you have no brainwaves of conscience you don't think about the kids..but..how does one forget they have them?? Short of having a labotomy to forget things..
Maybe if I started drinking large quantaties of alcohol and maybe adding a few joints into the mix that would help kill off some of those brain cells?? hmmmm...drugs yeah...thats it..I'll turn to drugs..

LoveHerStill,
You know better, having an MLC would mean hurting the ones you love. That's not you.
Plus ... you want to be careful. My Mom always said "Be careful what you wish for", and you know what we are all saying about our Mom's now that we're older.
Hey, what the heck is an "ONS"?
Jo

Aw com' on Jo,
ONS - one night stand
....eh um... to add what to do about the kids...let's see in a MLC you could... put them up for adoption? I got that one since the OW is not qualified to be a mom, I was told that if WS went to live with OW and something happened to me that he would give our son to his best friends family to raise.
What a loving parent!!! Imagine that.....continue to give away one's responsibilities to other people. Isn't that abandonment??!? Hm.... now you only get 1 chance..... what do you think my H's issue is here? hm.....??!?? WHO-
have to disagree with you about me having a MLC. The 'mid-life' part means that you are about half-way done with your time here. So, I'm going to wait until I am about 50 or 60 before I have my MLC! Geeze, that means I have to wait another 15 years or so, hope I can hold out that long! LOL

Orchid-
Yes, I am learning to be real careful where I walk. With all the goose poop around here, you have to, else you get the stinky shoes syndrome.
