I need feedback and do not know where to turn! I have been married 20 years and have 4 children. Up until 8 years ago, I felt that we had a strong marriage. Then I found out that he was making really bad financial decisions and creating lies to keep the information away from me. Initially, I thought that perhaps the stress on him to provide for our family ( I was a stay at home mom) contributed towards his feeling that he had to lie. Because of his actions, we are now heavy in debt. Our credit rating and financial stability is now in jeapordy.
THis is no longer an issue as now I too am employed. In addition to the lies and poor financial decisions, he has had some significant problems professionally. The deception has continued. Last week I found out that he co-signed a loan for someone to "make up for a business mistake." (I picked up a collectons call from the company since the loan was in arrears)
He says he loves me but his actions are so much louder than his words. Because of my faith, I feel compelled to hang in there, HOWEVER, I have lost much respect for him. I am tired of the deception. I have read the concept section on this site. I guess my questions centers around his track record of lies. Seems like our isues go beyond the areas of the emotional bank etc. Doesn't HE need to make some significant changes? How does someone who can lie so easily become a true parner in marriage?
I really would appreciate some feedback.
Thank you.
