It was the Ivillage, Redbook My Affair board. It used to be so great but turned fascist. Thanks for having us here. It feels more like the board we had a year ago when it was still on Women.com.
Love, BB

Sure! Here's the scoop.
Most of us originally started on women.com on a board a board titled "Redbook's My affair". That board had a mix of people from all sides of the affair. Those ending an affair, those discovering their spouse's affair, adults who were recovering from their parent's affair ...whatever. That was a lively group. There were some really nasty fights I'll tell you!!! But, there were also moments of pure undertanding and compassion between people with opposing viewpoints (and that was always worth all the muck we walked through).
Then, women.com got bought out by ivillage and the Redbook "My affair" board was changed. Ivillage has 3 sites devoted to infidelity. 1. Betrayed spouse support 2. Ending the affair 3. My affair support.
The last board is totally SUPPORTIVE of affairs ... "You GO girl ... your MM loves YOU not his wife" that sort of crap. OUR BOARD was special .... because it brought all the players together to share, exchange, debate, whatever.
There was some force at work that convinced the administration that our board needed to be divided to make yet another "safe haven" for those in an affair to post without being bothered by anyone else. GOD FORBID their feelings should be hurt!!! (and, I might add, we're honest, but not cruel)
So .... we got shafted. For myself personally, it felt like a NEW betrayal.
Anyway..... that's the scoop.
Pepper/Yesterday
[ February 16, 2002: Message edited by: Yesterday ]

OOOOOOkay...me thinks me got it. I think this place looks goodly! The format is like a few others I've seen out there and my only complaint is that the boards are still divided. So be it...maybe oneday the value of desegragation will be understood.
I'll have to scroll through all these posts later, I've got computer headaches to deal with. Thanks pepper for guiding us here, maybe we can continue to guide others!

Hola, Resiliant, y muchas gracias!
He estudiado el Espanol en la encuela, pero he olvidado todos.
I hope that makes any sense, because that was a looong time ago!
One of the great ironies that I saw on the iVillage site was a recent post on the "My Affair Support" board complaining that it had been sounding like a gloom and doom board. One of the replies complained that people who wanted to celebrate the joys of their affairs just didn't seem welcome there. Oh, well ....
Our greatest offense seems to have been our conviction that infidelity generally results in pain, damage, etc., rather than fun. I don't think that attitude was racy enough for Redbook's image!
Off the soapbox, and thanks again for the welcome!

The boards are divided by subject matter only. Many of us post on several sites. We recommnend newcomers start off on the Just Found Out site, post their story and move on from there.
IMHO, this is a pretty well rounded out place. I checked out a few others initially and settled here rather quickly. Of course that was in the olden days when I was still in 'shock'...... LOL!!!
The people here made me feel welcome right away. The influx of newcomers has grown tremendously. It is hard to keep up with all the stories.
Your group is unique since you come with some exp and background. So if a few of you can share your stories, maybe we can all settle in and tackle the big problem of LIFE!!!
L.
PS: Periodically we lighten up the board a little with a joke or 2 (at least attempt to).

I'm not familiar with the "lingo" here. From what I can gather WS is the betrayer...but what the HECK does it stand for??!! Wandering possibly? Then there are some others...MB? Is that for marriage builders? I'm confused...do I just need to keep reading or can someone pass me a clue?

Wow! These cyber-migrations are fun to watch!
Welcome, Red Book Riff-Raff! I hope you find things here to your liking. MB.com probably saved my marriage, so I'm rather fond of it. Glad to have you all here--and sad--I wish there were no need for support forums such as this...
It'll be great to have some other experienced hands to help others here, & maybe some of you will find some fresh help here as well. Just save some emoticons for the rest of us!

You might have noticed that we really missed the emoticons.
