What is even more amazing is how it came about.
My H likes to watch those blind date-type shows like Blind Date, RendezView, Shipmates. (maybe for vicarious enjoyment ?) On Blind Date they had a sequence of clips with the guy moving in to kiss the girl and the girl turning her head, and my H started commenting on that, saying he would never allow that to happen, how he would make sure to know it would be welcome before he'd make the move and a bunch of stuff about his skills in that department.
Of course this was a big trigger for me for him to be talking dating strategy and sh**. My internal voice was saying, "Well, I guess you'd know more about it since your dating experience is more recent than mine by more than a DECADE!!!!!!"
But I managed to control myself enough to opt for a lesser battle, and I said I wouldn't know anything about it since it's been so long since I've been kissed that I've forgotten what it's like. He countered by saying that he kisses me all the time. Me: "I'm referring to REAL kissing, and kisses of 1 second or less don't count." As he always has, he continued to insist on his version of history, and I just said, "Whatever, but I've been keeping track, and I know exactly how long it's been." And then I went on about my business getting ready for bed.
Now, for the amazing part. In the past, if we had an exchange like this, I could be certain that I would be punished by not being kissed for a long, long time because I dared to complain about it and not appreciate what I WAS getting. The general attitude has always been that if I'm not satisfied with what I'm getting, he'll be sure to give me even less.
However, this time, when he came to bed, he started making love to me, and I don't think his mouth and tongue left mine for more than a few seconds at a time, so much so that I had to come up for air a few times! So this is a 180 for him.
I guess this proves that the unprecedented CAN happen, so thought I'd share it for encouragement.
