Thanks for the reminder. I love Dr. Phil but I often forget it's Tuesday lol. I would love to lock my H in a room with Dr. Phil for an hour and see how he looks when he comes out

Yes, TD and sing, I've always visualized that too
I'll never forget the episode when there was a caller (an OW) with the question "how long should I wait for my lover to leave his wife---I've been waiting for 20 years now" He told her that he'd had that same question in an airport recently and his reply to that woman was "you couldn't be supider if I cut off your head".
He is brutal, but so right!!!
I'll be taping that one, too, and hopefully I'll even be able to get H to watch it!!!

SNL, if you got quality time with dr. phil & it was on tv, & us MBers knew about it, bet it would be the all time ratings getter.

SNL, go to Oprah's website, there's a place to ask Dr Phil a question. Maybe you'd get your chance to meet him face to face. I agree with sing---it would be one of Oprah's best shows!!!

Yanno, I think I might write Oprah and Dr. Phil a letter and see if they'd like to have me on their show to tell my story.
Think there'd be any interest?
Jo

Okay picture this - Snl and my H locked in a room with Dr. Phil and televised live. I can picture my H on the floor and Dr. Phil right beside, both in a fetal position with SNL airing his issues LOL
Now I'll be serious. There's a link on Oprah's webside where you can obtain a tape or transcript of the show.

Jo, yes, it's the daytime Oprah, but here they air it twice a day---at 9:00am, and 11:00pm. But, since I'm in Chicago, that could be why.
I'll be taping it, but I could tape it both times and send you a copy. I'd be happy to. No need to pay $25 to buy a copy off the web.
On her website, there's also a place to ask Dr Phil a question and tell your story. With what's happened to you, I'd go for it!!! If you could get on the show and get the help of Dr Phil, it would be so worth it. Do it!!!

ok tiny, you made me bust out laughing, and I need that
jo, ya know, they are always looking for material, and I am sure there is stuff here that could generate a good show, like why are long term marriages breaking up at increased rates (assuming they are)....
I would also be curious about a show comparing Dr phils stuff with MB, much will be similar, but wonder what the differences are, I don't think Dr. Phil is quite so adamant that most marriages must work... the you can be married to anyone thingy. He is more focused on you figuring out who you are, before trying to necessarily fix a dysfunctional marriage. But he does say you have to earn your way out of a marriage as the consequence to making vows/committments and I think that is correct (healthy).
Hmm... send in a question...maybe, would have to think on it, most will get a stock response, heck could write the response myself, hard to get em outside his box methinks.
I did call a Christian radio talk show once, a famous speaker on marriage (the usual doctrine) someone like Lucado or some such, I forget who exactly, been awhile....was interesting, he heard me out re Christian Theology about fitting, and surprise surprise, allowed as to how he had been wondering himself about the nature of oneflesh, freewill, and that in fact maybe every marriage is not the one God intended, and that I had some good points..coulda knocked me over with a feather...this was a died in the wool promoter of absolutism for some time. But curiously I have gotten similar responses from mainstream Christian folks, one a 30 year leader and mentor in a Christian marital restoration ministry, the other a Catholic priest who has been active in retrovaille, and marriage encounter for 20 years. Yep, I leave no stone unturned, I don't just torment folks here with my search There is supporting doctrinal views that marriage is not automatically spiritually bonded just cause we say it is (and divorce is a necessary pat of life so to speak), you don't hear much about it, cause the opposing rhetoric is much more pervasive...but I think you will, as we search for understanding.

SNL,
Write a question to DR. Phill I would love to see how he answers you. If it is a stock answer & yes you could write it yourself or if it was a real answer from the MAN.
I would be in tears if I had to deal with DR. Phil, don't think he be too kind to me, not that he be wrong but not kind. I can't even finish his book.
can ya'll tell I am doing everything but finishing my project
