My husband stopped his affair the end of January. "She" came back the second week of February claiming to be pregnant. (This is the third time she has made this claim. All lies.) This time she seems adamant. She took 6 pregnancy test. 5 alone, which she showed my husband and which were positive, then took 2 with him, both negative. He insisted she have a blood test, which she did, the result, was an elevated HCG level, therefore pregnant? That is my question. She is very manipulative and coniving. Does anyone know if you can elevated your HCG levels without actually being pregnant? She is a bodybuilder, so familiar with steriods and supplements. I believe she is going to great lengths to trap him. We are just starting to find our way back to each other. Please help. She is very capable of this. There is much more to this horrible story. I would greatly appreciate any inoformation. Thank you, Learning to Heal

Learningtoheal, Sorry for the turmoil that you are going through, I really don't know of any other reason why HCG levels would be eleavated, it usually means your pregnant, thats what the home pregnancy test check for, and she had her blood tested so she very well could be pregnant. But then again you metioned shes a body builder I not familar with supplements for body building so I suppose its possible for steriods etc.. to cause different test results.
Sorry, wish I could be more help this must be so difficult.Maybe someone on this board can give you a more def. answer. can you look up on the computer HCG levels in blood and what else could cause this.
Sally

Hi Learning,
Wow, way to similar. If I didn't know better I'd say the OW in your case is related to the one in ours. Except the one I dealt with isn't a body builder, just a 45 year old whiner who likes to threaten. Also dealt with 3 prego threats in 9 months. That's how the OW got the name Rabbit.
Anyway, take your question over to the preg/child site. They may be better quipped to answer your question. I know that 1 MB poster that is a neo-natal nurse (I think).
Hope this helps. I certainly do understand your cause for concern. The fact that she is trying so hard to prove that she is, makes you wonder her motivations.
Be careful. Your H should not be meeting her alone under any circumstances. I hope he is scared by all this.
L.

Thank you both for you responses. I have also posted on the Preg/Child site, so I'm crossing my fingers that someone will be able to help. I just want to move forward with my life to figure out if my marriage can even be saved. As long as she is in the picture, I can't budge from where I am. Thanks again. I will keep checking in to see if anyone else might be able to help.

Elevated HCG levels usually mean a pregnancy...although I have seen one case in 21 years caused by a rat bite...and 2 caused by cancer. Get a second test. T

I became pregnant this Fall for the first time. I found out when I had to have surgery for a broken bone. They told me normal (not pregnant) levels are 0-5 and mine was 8 so I was just pregnant. It usually doubles every day in early pregnancy and goes into the thousands. Do you know what the level was? I would guess that unfortunately, she is pregnant. Any chance it isn't his?
