I haven't updated on the forum about this because it's all between me and my son. My XW chose not to participate at all until just two days ago after it was clear that I was taking one of the dogs to a lady that finds homes for them before the end of next week. XW offered up another home and I of course agreed for her to take any responsibility, but if that doesn't pan out, off the dog goes per my original plan on Wednesday.
I agreed to keep the other dog - the one that was a gift to my deceased son - provided my surviving son continues his improved care regimen. This was decided after meeting with him and his counselor on two occasions about this. I don't want to go into the details here, but in the end I decided to continue to make the personal sacrifices for my son.
I'm hopeful that in time, he'll understand ALL of this messy situation much better, and appreciate what I tried to do.
[ March 17, 2002: Message edited by: worthatry ]

Dave,
I have been wondering the same thing.
Glad you & your son are trying to work it through & maybe he will see your view of the mess or he may surprise you with how well he takes of the dog.
Some how some where I missed that your D was final. I am so sorry. You worked so hard and deserved better.
But from all accounts it sounds as if you are doing well.
good luck on your continued journey out of the nightmare that our WS create.
Enjoy your spring & those upcoming trips.
G

Hi Dave,
Ditto Sing's statement. I too have been worried about you. Ok, I could have sent an e-mail and I will. Is that ok?
You have my respect for the way you have handled it all despite the obstacles thrown in your way. I wish you well on your journey forward in life. You certainly deserve the best of the best.
Please keep in touch. You know I still remember that post about when I first learned about your little doggies and I thought they were the size of 2 dobermen pinchers instead of dauchsands. LOL!!!
