Ok, Born in Aurora, CO Have always called South Dakota home as this is where my grandparents lived. Dad and WH both were in the Air Force so lots of addresses for me. Live in Rapid City, SD now very close to LOR, haven't met yet though.
I can see the lights from Mt Rushmore at night in the summer. Great Faces Great Places is what our license plates say.
Bikers galore in Sturgis in August, it is something to see!!
Dawn

New Mexico....
I think we're the only one's here from NM.
And yes, we are part of the USA (even though the residency program in Texas sent my XH a foreign student application). We are not a suburb of Arizona (even though many maps and articles say we are). We have running water, in door toilets and electricity (despite what they say in the Metropolitan Opera Magazine). The New Mexico Magazine used to run a great section entitled “One of Our Fifty is Missing”.
[ March 21, 2002: Message edited by: zorweb ]

quote:
on easter weekend you can buy all the ride tickets you want at 1/2 price!!!

WOW, thanks for the tip, I was not aware!!!
I took Gina [aka W.G.up H/LittleCookie], my better half, [and yes I met her here], down there last year and we had a blast. Once again trunk full of stuffed animals. Must have made 3 trips to the car with our arms loaded up. People stopped us and asked if the machines were really that easy They are for me!!!
Had a blast on the pier, but she wouldn't go on the Tilt a Whirl, , guess I'll have to wait until T2 goes along again. Her kids [6 and 9] haven't seen a beach yet, so that is our goal. She is from Ark.k.k.kansas, so from what I hear their beach is kinda small. Can't wait for the look on their faces when they see the "Heights"
Easter sounds cool, when is that this year?
All this talk of Seaside and I'm ready to go now.
Zippy [me sitting on the benches eating boardwalk fries]

Seaside Heights....
That's where we took the kids last summer as kind of a 'reconciliation' celebration. We stayed for three days in a dive motel right across from the boardwalk - our kids had soooooooooooo much fun.
Actually during college I worked summers as a nanny in Mantoloking near Point Pleasant.
The Jersey Shore is so awesome!

Nikko,
I grew up in the Phila area (across the RIVER from NJ).....what is everyone saying about the water????? Spent many summers at the NJ shore, mainly south of AC, Avalon, Lonport, Cape May
jdmac1 - see there is a southern belle here... Now I live in "Lower Alabama" actually the undiscovered part of Florida. I live 10 minutes from the most gorgeous beaches......Y'alll come down now hear!
wiffle - I was just in B'ham for a soccer tournament with my younges S and to see USA play Equidor. We come up ther about 2 x year.
To all of you Texans, lived in DFW area for many years.
Gotta go - it's Spring break for my oldest S & we are headed to the beach........Have a great day! At the moment, Okinawa. I left home (Idaho) when I was 18 and I have been all over the world since.
If I wanted to pick a place to be my home when I am done moving around, it would have to be back in Pearl City, Hawaii. I consider this my new hometown. I lived there for a five glorious years. Hey, I even kine look like a local, (I am half Nez Perce Indian,) no one even notices I am not until I start talking and I sound like a haole. Maybe when I go back "home" I can get the accent down.

Hi, I was Born in Wisconsin's Capitol, Madison. I work in Madison. I moved from Madison over 40 years ago, but have never lived further than 70 miles away.
I like nikko's idea of finding a vacation spot at a MB's place. Put my place on the list. (have to finish unpacking first)

This will teach me to post, then read all the other posts. The NJ connection is scary. My wife and I were there for her brother's wedding to his NJ bride. My wife's parents and her sister & husband went too. This sister divorced after her H was "just friends" with a girl young enough to be his daughter. If I had known about this NJ thing either I wouldn't have drank the water, or made sure there was enough alcohol in the glass to kill the "germs"
[ March 23, 2002: Message edited by: Daniel ]
