I am reading Self Matters (that is, when I can get it away from my hubby). I am not finished with the book...but, I am anxious to know...does he ever address the solution? It seems he has gone on forever describing the problems we have and they are sooooo true. I am impatient to know if by the end of the book you feel he addressed what you wanted to discover.

You may be disappointed.
The book is not very productive, in my opinion, for those of us going through such significant life issues as infidelity, seperation, and/or divorce.
These serious life issues make it difficult to do the work in the book with a clear mind. When you are thinking about nothing else 24 hours a day except for the infidelity, you really cannot give the book the degree of focus that you should.
Lastly, the book does not have a good conclusion. It does not give you a good action plan on what to do. You do all this analizing then are not given much direction.

That is EXACTLY what I was afraid of...too much figuring out the problem...and too little solution resolution. I find that so many books do that. They can describe the problem exactly...and go into great detail..but they don't provide good solutions like they "say" they will.

The more I read of Doc Phil's the more disappointed I am.
I think he had a GREAT thing going before he became the Oprah guru, but he's so over-marketed and punching out too many books to be of much use.
I always really liked him, especially his no-nonsense approach to cheaters... but lately I just get the feeling he's blah-blah-blahing the same ol', same ol', but in a different package.

I'm so sorry... right after I hit the submit button I realized what I'd done... sorry...
I meant, the information machine... as in, Oprah, her mag, on the website... I think he's being overmarketed...
