Watching the movie "The Contender". Ughhhh ....
A possible woman candidate for the vice presidency is being critiqued and all her skeletons are being drudged up.
Turns out her current husband (former campaigne manager) was married to her best friend. Their marriage is an affair based marriage.
The press has asked her to explain this impropriaty, and she states the following:
"Love is an involuntary reflex and I fell victim to it"
More Ughhhhhh!
Thoughts?
Jo
[ March 23, 2002: Message edited by: Resilient ]

My thoughts?
I think that everyone, myself included, would dearly love to have someone or something else to blame when things go wrong. Especially when it turns out that we made a bad choice. A statement like "Love is an involuntary reflex" is just an attempt at relieving oneself from responsibility for poor choices.
The same thing plays itself out here at MB every day. BS and WS alike would love to have someone to blame, but that approach only brings more bitterness. I'm guilty of it myself.

A few people have brought up specific movies and shows lately that depict A as reasonably common and not such a terrible thing...it happens, get over it.
I have to say that when I first found out about my H's A I couldnt watch TV for ages - everyone was having an A. I felt the TV stations were being so insensitive.
Lately I'm asking myself why I have let this crap come before my eyes again, be it ever so slowly. Sure, I turn it over to another station, but do I really need to put myself in a vulnerable situation in the first place?
I've decided to find other ways to entertain myself.
But keep us updated as to what shows NOT to watch...theres nothing worse than getting halfway through a movie and discovering someones having an A. Thats a bummer
Dancer
