Good afternoon and weekend all,
I was talking to my youngest daughter late last night and to make a long story short she brought it to my attention that there was a poem on her bedroom wall that she dedicated to the OW in our lives.
Her walls are a virtual collage so I rarely notice anything new.
I thought that you'd all be interested in reading the poem that she wrote. I understand all her emotions of hurt, anger and I myself struggle daily with hatred. I only wish I knew how to help her heal of it.
She said she wrote this about 3 months ago. She also stated that she'd hoped her Dad would read it. She turned 14 in June, discovery was on February 21st.
Here it is...
STORM OF EMOTION
The thunder is me yelling at you.
The rain are my tears,
falling upon you!
The wind is me trying to blow
away the pain you have caused.
The lightning is me striking
you down dead.
The clouds are my hands chocking
off your air supply.
The sunshine is the glow on
my face once you’re gone.
The rainbow is the smile upon
my face of relief that the
storm has ended.
By: Sabrina
Dedicated to: Pamela
I think we all need to be praying intently for our children. They shouldn't have to harbor feelings like these.
------------------
God bless you and all of us.
Samantha

[This message has been edited by Samantha-MI (edited September 11, 1999).]
[This message has been edited by Samantha-MI (edited September 11, 1999).]

I have a 15 year old daughter that feels the same way. The hurt that the kids feel is just immense. I just wish these souses would relize that.

Lord, I pray that my children haven't sensed what is going on. I haven't told them and feel that since nothing more is coming of it that it would only have hurt them more to know the devistation that not only my H but the OW (supposedly a "family friend") did. I know tomorrow I may see her and I fully expect my kids to go up and hug her as they have done in the past. I know this might hurt me but it would be much better for them if they didn't know what is going on and had a free from hurt childhood!
------------------
Chick's
You won't see things until your ready to not be blind!
I don't know how old your children are but, my daughters therapist recommended the truth. I am not sure if I agree or not still. I will tell you this that I believe it helped her understand why "Mommy" was crying and always upset.
I also have seen that kids know or that they eventually find out. I think that if they find out later then they might me angry at not being told. Mine actually guessed pretty much and had a good idea.
It has been 6 months and by now she'd sure have figured it out.
Chick...your more gracious than me, I would not let my children hug this woman and I'd make sure that I told her to keep her paws off my children. God bless you and bring you peace for being such a good person.

------------------
God bless you and all of us.
Samantha
Bless her heart. I have a 15 year old too that's coping in the strangest ways!! I think you're right on in suggesting the truth. Even the littlest ones pick up on the tension and the change in schedules and the truth, many times, is LESS devastating that the things THEY come up with to explain it away.
Hugs for you and your daughter. It's the hardest thing in the world on them.
Lori

Lori,
Thanks so much for the hugs for my daughter. She is a huge blessing and we are both very lucky. Thank God for all we have.
On the bright side she may learn that people can work out big problems and that love and the right thing will prevail.
At any rate I hope we all learn possitive things from all this.
You and your 15 year old will be in my prayers too.

------------------
God bless you and all of us.
Samantha
I feel so sad for the kids who have lost their innocence because of this. My four youngest kids had no idea that infidelity existed before this (they had managed never to hear about Monica). My two older ones, who love reading romance novels, probably knew more about infidelity than I did - interestingly my oldest has always refused to read books where the hero/heroine commits adultery.
I hate the fact that my 9 year old even knows about infidelity, much less that she knows her father thinks it is ok. She is really into country music, and today she asked me to explain the lyrics of "The Nights the Lights Went out in Georgia". I hope I was convincing when I explained that murdering the OP and infidel was taking things too far. So far she hasn't asked about "Papa loved Mama, Mama loved Men", thank goodness.

Nellie,
I had forgotten about that song. I guess I should thank my lucky stars that my little one...doesn't like country songs. I have a hard enough time with the 98 Degrees song. That one gets me almost every time.
This is so hard on them all. Sad thing is they keep so much of it inside.
------------------
God bless you and all of us.
Samantha
Hi there Faith Hope Love,
Yes husband now knows. I pointed it out to him yesterday when we were redoing her room. She is 14 now and it was time for the "Precious Moments" stuff to go.
He read it and didn't understand at first that it was directed to his OW. Then I told him...he said that he was going to digest it and then talk to her about it. He said that he was going to explain that it wasn't really Pam's fault at that it was my fault and his fault as well. That she shouldn't blame OW. I told him that maybe it felt safer for her to lash all out at OW.
I told him that he'd better watch what he said.
I spoke to her a little bit about it yesterday and she said that she realized it was not just OW but that she couldn't say and feel those things especially write them about her father.
I told her to take the poem to her therapist on Wednesday which she hadn't done sense she wrote it.
My husband also thought it was a good poem but, that she shouldn't be harboring so much hatred. I agree but, I feel she needs an outlet.
When I tell her not to hate the OW and that God doesn't want the hatred in us and it hurts us she pooh poohs it.
She has gotten farther from God sense this all happened not closer to him.
Time will make this all right with God's help and wisdom. I just can't wait until we all get there.
------------------
God bless you and all of us.
Samantha
