you know you are healing when you do your daily MB check & you don't feel compelled to post, or read threads, & you see few or little old friends.
A yr ago I would not have been sane if it was not for this place.
My marriage did not surivie but I have found peace. I am fast coming up on the 3 yr mark, not really of dday but of my then H telling me how I screwed his life, of course he left our the little tid bit that he was sleeping with some one else. He now lives with the OW abut like I said I have peace and getting happier every day.
There is life after this mess, even if it does not work out how you wanted it to.

dear sing- i know what you mean. i have found myself here less and less lately. i have been feeling strong and confident in me for a change.
after first finding this site-which by the way saved my life-thank you all!!!, i felt like i had an addiction to logging on. i almost posted a thread about it. i would rush home from anywhere to get on. i started to think i was insane. but i realized you guys were my only support at the time. thank you all again for that. i have hopefully strengthened myself enough to start living again. i bacame quite a homebody. i will still check in and lurk, and post, but the addiction seems to have subsided, for now.

That is so true sing. Although I come on here just about every night, I certainly don't post as much as I used to (believe it or not! LOL).
One of my signs of healing, is that I can now laugh at the typical WS fogese talk. Especially the stuff my FWH said to me during our separation!!! Now THAT is progress!
As far as recognizing the aliases on here - I'm with you. There are fewer familiar posters to me these days. I have mixed emotions on that one (glad that the ones I know are able to move on and don't need MB the same anymore, yet sad that there are still so many more that do.).
Karen

Wow Sing,
That sure rings true for me too. There was a time I had to post or I was going to lose it. Thank you all for helping me through all of this.
I also feel stronger every day. The Anti-Ds help--but I think acceptance is finally grabbing hold. I don't feel that panicky state anymore.
I still have my bad days...but at least I can function now.
Will see how I feel around graduation time though..that could be tough. Pat

Sing--
Ditto here on the lurking and posting. It runs in streaks I guess.
I am so happy you have found some peace. I recall your posts from a year ago and I know you were in a different place then.
This sounds much better.
Good for you.
E

I know exactly what you are talking about. I feel the need to post every now and then, maybe start a thread once in a blue moon. I've just passed the two year mark and things seem more peaceful. I think Harley is right on with that estimate.
Glad to hear you are doing well. How are the kids?

Hi G - glad to hear you are healing. I can tell because you're capitalizing the first words in your sentences better now.
Speaking of healing, how's the shoulder on, what was it, number 42?
WAT

Hey all, it was nice to see some friends here.
cinderalle, I have been wondering about you. I will try & email latter. You know I have never gone to one of the reunions either. I would like to walk over campus & see the changes. I know Oniondell is gone.
Steve[b/], long time no see, so is your yard now covered in fire ants after the rains last wk. the mosquotes are starting to come out too. wasn't ready for all the joys yet of a H-town summer, and what happen to our Astros!
[b]Elad, you are right, if anyone wants to see what a difference a yr makes, go read my post from a yr ago. Of course I was between a rock & a hard place but all I did was cry & whine, gee how did ya'll stand me.
cleo[b/], glad you are doing well. the boys are doing good. have some stability it good for them, having a mom who is not crying all the time is even better. Of course they will be glad when my last class is done the 1st of May. I may not be witch mom any more but for the most part they have been understanding.
[b]Dave, i don't do captials because of my short fingers, they get tired, & spell check always gets them so I am lazy on here.
42's shoulder is healing, he most likely didn't do enought rehab, but he is lifting & complaining about all the strength he lost, he liked to say he was the strongest white guy on the team. not sure if he will play his sr yr, think he is afraid of getting hurt. he has been in Singapore with his Dad all wk, he is flying back alone today. Sort of worried that I will have to deal with lots of resentment again when he returns.
so how did the dog wars finally end. A little over 2 months to the big trip, do you think you could send postcards, so those of us who will be stuck in hot, humid, did I say hot H-town, can get a little virtual thrill.
Topie, I like you have to come here everyday but I love not wanting to post except to catch up with friends. loved the photos

Well, I consider the first skirmish a victory. With one down, I find I tolerate the second (original) one a lot better. If she would just stop eating cat poop! Spent $550 on her for her intestinal problems and for boarding while we were in Florida. I may hire some neighbor kids to keep her while we're in Belize.
At the risk of hijacking your thread - bear with me for this short story on this dog topic. I think you'll enjoy it: About a week before we went to Florida for spring break, we were finalizing the next home for dog #2 while at the same time dealing with dog #1's cat poop disease and trying to find a place that could board her during recovery from said disease AND trying to get X to share some of this load. Out of the blue, Taz took a call at home from a kennel asking for X by name wanting to know if we were still planning to board a dog with them because, if not, they would charge a cancellation fee if we don't cancel sooner than 48 hours before. She relayed the number to me and I called them back, thinking this was the kennel I had already talked to, but curious why they had asked for X. They said that X had called, given a credit card #, and requested boarding for 1 dog for a week coming up - not exactly coinciding with our week away. During the conversation, I figured out this was a different kennel and concluded that perhaps X had made this reservation independently thinking that she might be deciding to be responsible for a change. So, I e-mailed X, advising her that I had already secured a different boarder, but thanking her for taking the initiative to help, and advising her that she should call the kennel to cancel the reservation soon else get charged for a cancellation. Later that evening she called per usual to talk to <son> and asked to speak to me and asked what the heck was I talking about with all this kennel stuff? I told her exactly what had occured: kennel called at our home number, asked for you, asked about a reservation, had your CC #. She claimed I was nuts and insinuated I was being devious. I simply replied that this was all I knew. I gave her the number of the kennel and the name of the person who called and ended the conversation. NOTE: recall that she can't help caring for OUR dogs because she can't afford it. WELL (sorry this is longer than I expected) in a conversation yesterday with OM's STBX, she related that OM still has at least one dog of his own, that he boards him whenever he and my X travel together, etc., etc. So my guess is that my X had actually made a reservation for OM's dog, one apparently she CAN afford, so they could go somewhere during spring break while I had <son> in Florida - or some other variation. I think moose brain worms are FAR wrose than cat poop.
Back on track: well, I'll be glad to share pics and stories after we return from Belize - but there's no post office on our boat. No cell phone service, no TV, no nothing to send or receive cept a VHF radio and you gotta get closer than Houston to hear us on that.
Sorry to hog your thread.
Dave

Sing,
I'm so happy for the peace you've found. I hope to one day join you, where we both only think of our trials here as past memories of lessons learned.
I still can't say I know I'm in full blown healing mode. Until I experience a number of consecutive days where I wake up WITHOUT this thing on my mind, I can only assume I am still a work in progress. The betrayal is still very paramount in my thoughts. It by no means defines me, but it definitely is taking up too much space in my brain.
I have good days and bad days. And I cherish and so much appreciate the good days. I pray all the time for healing and peace, I hope when it does come to me, it will never leave me.
Love, Jo

Well, there are some ants. I finally found that periodic applications of diazanon (sp?) keep them away, but it's time to do it again. Haven't seen the mosquitoes yet, but YS is in little league and you have to have spray at certain times or you can't even sit still to watch for swatting and scratching.
BTW, lower case is not bad. I put capitals in sentences, but use mostly lower case filenames now that I'm using mostly Linux, as Unix is case sensitive. Makes things less complicated.
Astros? Well, I haven't gotten too into it yet, and it's way too early in the season to know how good they'll be. They're a classic mid-level team: can keep a few of their best (high-priced) players, but have to constantly turn over some of the more expensive ones and hope that newer, lower priced guys come through in order to make the playoffs.
Bottom line, strong offense again, fair defense, good pen, possibly quite good starting rotation if all the young guns are what they think. Likely scenario is to have a decent chance to contend with the Cards and Cubs for a division title, but probably not the favorite.
As an aside, I'm working probably not too far from you these days--close to where Hwy 90 and Hwy 6 cross. Bit of a drive for me, but working nights so little traffic.
Stay cool.
Steve
[ April 15, 2002: Message edited by: StillHers ]

Sing, I’m glad to hear that you’re getting happier everyday and at peace after this whole mess. You’ve come a long way my friend. Someday I hope I will have peace and live in harmony. I’m not there yet, but I’m getting better every day.
Nowadays, I find myself coming here less and less to post. I still check in from time to time to see how my old friends are doing and move on with my work. I don’t have the urge to come here more often any more. I wish I could spend more time helping the “newbies” but I’m not good at it.
As for me, life is still busy with the family activities. In that sense, they occupied my mind here and there. So I have less time to think about this whole mess, only at night when I still feel so lonely but I get used to it already. There is nothing new there. Over all, I’m somewhat OK and most of the time I try to be at peace too.
Until then, have a nice day, my old friend and friends.
