Ok, I was just looking through our office supplies book to order some things for the office. I was reading the "Motivational Products" because I like the pictures and many of the saying. I just came across one that is so fitting in the lives of both the BS as well as the WS - especially in rebuilding. I thought I'd share it with all of you.
SEEK FIRST TO UNDERSTAND, THEN TO BE UNDERSTOOD
The key to understanding is listening with the eyes and the heart.
I hope you can all get from this what I have. Have a great day.

I like that Nikko. Thanks.
You just gave me an idea - let's all add our own as well. Inspiration is something we can all use, so why not share it here; and what better time than now.

"Your only obligation in any lifetime is to be true to yourself. Being true to anyone else or anything else is ... impossible." -Richard Bach-
This is such a contradiction to me. I genuinely believe this is true, but it seems at odds with most of what I do. (Guess what - I am also really struggling with this concept of the Policy of Joint Agreement. I get the concept, just can't quite figure out how to make it work. Off to the Emotional Needs forum for some more reading!)

Ah, yes... the seven keys to highly effective people... families and teens...
I used Covey's stuff w/ a class of students recently.
This is probably the hardest thing to grasp because I think we almost always are formulating our reply to someone while they are speaking...
I have to work hard at really listening to what they are saying and keeping my own reply waiting until I have clarified what it is I think I've heard...
Thanks for the reminder!
