I was wondering if anyone out there might have some insight for me. I have been in treatment for depression for 1 1/2 years. I was doing really well on 40mg Prozac for a while. Then for the past , maybe 6 months, I've been having a problem. I get depressed the week prior to my period. The week before that and after that I deal with a lot of anxiety coupled with obsesive type behavior (mostly picking - fingernails, scabs, etc.) It has been getting progressively worse and this month was almost unbearable. I do not want to have to go through another month of this. I left my dr. a detailed note, asking about changing or upping my meds but he hasn't gotten back to me. He's a good dr, but hard to get a hold of. I don't know if discovery of affair has had any major part in this - it seems to have started before, but has really spiraled downward since. Does anyone know if this is just depression or something more? Therapist mentioned a different kind of bi-polar that has a more anxiety laden side rather than the manic high.
