Thanks, Bellevue. I don't think it would work right now -- the discussion isn't really about her, although she's trying to make it so. It's wandered off onto other topics, but she is likely to post again.

Congrats on the job AMM! This is very good news.
The job, I mean. Be good to care less about the other stuff.
Palo Alto is muy expensive. Be prepared to commute a bit.
So, is it one of the positions you wanted?

Awwww, Aphelion, but think of how much I'll save on gas and car maintenance if I stay local!
I expect I'll try to keep a handle on the sitch, even from a distance. The burden of XH when he falls apart will fall on people I love -- his sons, for example, or my SIL. And when the whole community has been in denial, it does hook you into the situation in a strange way.

Do you have any pity for him, AM? I know you feel no joy about his self-destruction, just wonder if you feel pity. It is pretty pitiful. Yeah, the best parts of me do, and pray for both of them daily. Neither of them are in a good way. I always wondered whether he would destroy her, or she would destroy him. Over the years it wobbled both ways. Still not sure how this will end. She's much tougher than she pretends to be.

Well, thank you Ark et al. But I hardly feel like I deserve any prizes for virtue. you showed Grace on to those who you would have never thought would betray you.....your friends... I didn't exactly show grace. My friendships have mostly ended because of this. My remaining friends think I'm being too "hard" by dumping friends for enabling the descent of my husband; I call it a little accountability for decisions. you bit your tongue I am sure till it bled.. Only because no one listened to me. And many think I should have held it more. you were staying till she graduated...
and was settled.. Which happened last June. I've been ready to go for over a year. I never thought it would be so hard reentering the workforce. It's been two long years of job searching from 200 miles away. I hope your new home is sanctified with light.

And yes, folks, it's really true: it's still getting worse and worse and worse.
OW is having a meltdown on a public blog (Bellevue and Mojodiva and Orchid -- you should read her latest -- she even drags my name into it. It's truly truly weird...)
I smell lawsuits in the offing.
XH sent me a weird email this morning -- the first in over two years, since I had blocked his email address. He's taking the liberty to find out how to rid me of the dead car in my driveway. As if it were any of his business...hmmmmm...what does he really want?
Don't worry! Whatever it is, I sent him a pleasant, affable two-line email thanking him for his concern, and telling him I'd made other arrangements.
I'm so glad I'm 200 miles away!
