There is an exhibition at the British Museum here in London over the summer, displaying your Declaration of Independence document and our nearest equivalent, the Magna Carta. Y'all should come over and see it!
Apparently you could have had a turkey as your national animal, but the bald eagle won over in the end.
Do you eat bald eagles on the fourth, or is it turkey?

For the record, we bought extra fireworks today to save for the fifth of November. We actually teach our kids a little bit about your country! :P

Yep! After our fireworks we sit around and watch movies about how we kicked the British foreign devils out! Watching "The Revolutionary War" right now.

The colonies win in the Revolutionary War had more to due with Benjamin Franklin's successful diplomacy with the French than anything else. The British considered us to be their possession until the War of 1812. We didn't win that war directly, either. It was the fact that it was a domestic public relations disaster for the British. The British citizenry was appalled at the news of the burning of Washington.
