We are taking a family vacation to Oahu this Wednesday. We will be visiting my sister, her husband is stationed there. Just wondering if anyone knows of any "must see" spots that wouldn't be in the travel guides?? We will be there for ten days. The girls are now 6 & 8 and we enjoy all sorts of things together. I am a professional photographer...any heads up on those secret spots would be great!! Hi,
Twyla, Leilana & Tigger4jt all live in the islands. Maybe they can give you some insider scoops. I have some relatives on Oahu but my parents are on the big island. If you can island hop. Kauai is beautiful (waterfalls and beautiful beaches. Maui is also fun.
Hmmmm..... On Oahu, drive around the island from Honolulu south you can go to the Diamond Head Crater then go to the windward side. There are some hikes up the mountains that run along with ridge. You can see a good part of the islands from there.
On the big island (Island of Hawaii) you can helicopter over the volcano and maybe see a few flows. Pretty cool stuff. Then there is the 7 valleys with some incredible views. Drive down is with a 4-wheel drive.
Me, I go for the da food and family. Oh yea, and da beach.
Have a fun trip!!!
