OK nikko here you go...
At nikko's suggestion here is a question for all BS & WS.
What habit annoys/annoyed your spouse the most or what habit does your spouse have that annoys you?
This comes off of nikko's "tango" thread. She mentioned it drove her crazy when her H fell asleep in the Lazy Boy and she had to fight and struggle to get him to join her in bed.
Well, I did the same thing from time to time, and that drove my WW to distraction, too.
I got some good feedback from others on nikko's thread as to why that was such an annoyance to them, too. It provided some understanding for me (thanks conqueror & faith1).
Anyway--What habit annoys/annoyed your spouse the most or what habit does your spouse have that annoys you?
If they are brought up here, maybe some feedback can help us all understand these annoyances a bit better. The habit that I would say I have that annoys my H most is that I don't make decisions easily. Even easy ones like where do you want to have dinner. "Oh, I don't care. Where ever you choose."
The habit that my H has that annoys me is when he is on the computer and I need him for something (dinner is ready, etc...) "just a minute" turns into about 5 and sometimes 10. Although I will say that he has greatly improved on this. These days when he says "just a minute" it is pretty darn close to a minute. My WW complained constantly about me falling asleep in the recliner. However, I was on call 24/7, and would usually stay up until around 11PM or so,in case the phone rang (and it did quite often) while WW was an early sleeper, and retired about 9pm or so.
But...While she complained about me not coming to bed, the times that I did and the phone started, that was a complaint too. So...in essence....I couldn't do it right either way. She worked too, and the reason I stayed so late on the recliner was that I could turn off the phone in the bedroom and not let my work disturb her.
Looking back, though, I can remember times that she actually would come to get me around midnite or so, and I would be awake (she didn't know) and she would try to wake me up with a "whisper". Of course I would usually come to bed, then. That sort of made me think that she did that all the time. No wonder I never made it to bed sometimes.
hcii

My bad habit - which I'm working on - is that when H is talking I tend to jump in and almost "take over". I'm a quick thinker and talker, and H is very deliberate with thoughts and speach. He doesn't talk about his feelings or about our relationship unless I drag it out of him. I guess THAT'S my habit: I try to force his thoughts and feelings out of him! That must really drive him crazy!
H's bad habit is that he tends to be unaware or inconsiderate of other people. He's always been pretty self-centered and usually puts his own wants first (mostly just with the family - he's a giver with everyone else?!?). HOWEVER, since last D-Day he's done LOTS better with this issue. He's more aware of trying to make me - and the kids! - happy. (I'm still a little suspicious of his motives sometimes...residual fear from the affair)
Oh, and H also takes his uniform off in the dining room and leaves it draped over the chairs - drives me nuts!
Lori

My H has the annoying falling asleep in front of the TV, too... I was WAY TOO CONTROLLING ABOUT IT... and went from asking him to come to bed... to telling... to yelling... to...
I have just started a two week mission NOT to say ANYTHING about it... Day two... still being successful.
Annoying H habit #2... NO SENSE OF TIME... he is LATE for everything... DOESN'T LEAVE NOTES... Doesn't call until AFTER he is supposed to be wherever... DRIVES ME NUTS...
My annoying habits... I have psoriasis pretty badly and when it flares up there are flakes everywhere... I have been pretty good about using lotion ALL the TIME since d-day.... it is getting better.
#2... making sure my opinion or knowledge of a subject is known.... learning to just keep my mouth shut and listen more...
oh... there's more... but those are the top two...
Hugs, Cali

My wife said my most annoying habbit was staying up late and playing games on the computer. Now I go to bed at 9:30 and she stays up late and watches TV.
I am not making this up.
So, should I go back to the computer?
Well, the MB way would be to find out what is really going on, The reason I used to stay up late and play games is that If I went to bed she ignored me, and I couldn't take it. ( no not just sex, she wouldn't talk, touch, or much of anything. )
Actualy, since filling out the LB questionair , we have both improved, and we are going to bed about the same time.
Say, there must be something to this MB stuff. Who would have thought?
SS

My H’s annoying habits:
#1 – Does want to jump at anyone’s beck and call. When the children or I ask him to do anything he will not get up and do it for at least 15 to 20 minutes just to “prove a point.” Which means the kids get impatient and usually come ask me for any little thing (they’re little so they still need help getting a drink of water) and I am usually the one that ends up doing it.
#2 – Ties into to #1, whenever he wants something he expects it to be done right away. He’s worse then the kids for losing his stuff.
#3 – His inability to make a decision, ask him for an opinion and “he’ll say whatever you think” then complain that I wear the pants in the family and make all the decisions.
#4 – The way he asks for sex; confrontational complaining about our lack of.
My annoying habits:
#1 – Way to anxious and excitable, if to much is going on or I feel stressed I tend to get very irritated and snap at someone (usually him).
#2 – I like every thing to be just so around the house and if it isn’t see #1.
#3 – I’m not very good at planning meals.
