had my first session with dr. harley this morning. husband knew i was calling and was supportive. dr. harley gave me "homework" and told me i was doing well. i really have done a great plan a, and it was nice to hear it from someone. i hopefully have the strength to continue on. he gave me some good ideas for discussions i have to have with husband and how to get husband involved with the phone counseling. that is gonna be touchy-he really hates the idea about telling strangers his 'stuff'. he wont even post here. i hope i can do this. gonna be an interesting night.

Good for you Nikko!

What worked for me to get WW to "work" with Steve was to tell her that "he's helping me become a better husband, and he'd like to talk to you to get your perspective"

Best of luck!

Cool! Good job Nikko! I hope hubby gets on board, especially with his latest "epiphamy". No matter what, you're working on becoming a better you!

dear hope-thanks for the encouragement. i hope he meant what he said also, now its time for him to prove it with actions. he is very reluctant about counseling-i wish i could tell him i was reluctant about ever thinking i would have to heal from my husband screwing someone else, but i think that would be a LB! <img border="0" title="" alt="[Wink]" src="images/icons/wink.gif" />

anyway- i am a better me. i am proud of this and have worked hard to get here. thanks.

But telling him it's about "becoming a better wife for you", he'll have an incentive to do it more....

Nikko,

We had 1 session with Steve. My WS at the time was a grouch big time grouch. He grumbled before but we had it anyway and guess who did all the talking? I got less than 10 minutes with Steve. At the end we were given our assignments and then the ws jerk said 'no more'. Well that was then. I have not explored it since he changed back to an H but just wanted to let you know.

dear orchid-thanks for sharing that. hopefully my hubby meant what he said-but if not thats ok too. im in a place that i have made decisions about my future, with him or without. i would prefer with, but alas i cant chose for him. it will probably take losing everything to wake up, but at that point i may have healed without him. its up to him now.
