Hello everyone! It has been a few months and I thought I better check in. I have now relocated from Sweden back to my hometown in MN. My WW and kids are still in Sweden. I miss the kids a lot, but I must say that it hasn't been so tough to be away from my W. We are on good terms though... I have stayed busy on the hunt for a new job here--which might take awhile. I haven't seen any sort of D forms from my W, which means she is either too usy to get around to it or is still debating if it is what she wants. So, all-in-all, not a lot exciting happening here stateside, but I must say it is nice to be back.

Hi Sweden, I had asked about you on one of your threads but never seen a reply. Wondered how you were.
What are your personal plans for the next while? And are you really happy or just smiling for the camera ?
Hope you really are doing well.
SS

Sweden:
Good 2 hear from you! Good 2 hear you're doing well, considering. Sorry your family didn't come with you, but as you last explained, that's not unexpected. It's interesting indeed that your W hasn't sent any sort of DV papers. That could be a good sign. Nothing like that big blue pond 2 insure separation for a while, eh? Sorry, don't mean 2 make funny of that situation, but it really is encouraging that she appears 2 be thinking. Maybe missing you.
Welcome back 2 the states, and good luck!

Hi Sweden, Thought of you lately, funnily enough. Your absence on the board was noticed. Now: How does the ocntact with your wife look like? Does she have plans to come over? Do you have plans in place for the kids? Nick

The situation between us is a bit uncertain, but that I guess is expected with the actual physical distance between us. On the (potentially) positive front, I know she has been searching for jobs here in the states--to no avail. On the negative side, she did get a seemingly decent job back in Sweden, a very small company that does the constant streaming of other radio stations on the web. I would guess she has no plans on making her way to this side of the Atlantic anytime soon. Hopefully the company will go bankrupt. I'm managing quite well here, but as I mentioned, it can be a bit difficult at times w/o the kids. This seems to be strongest when I see fathers doing spending time whth their children. With this return home, there has been a huge weight lifted off my shoulders. It is difficult to explain why, but I am sure not having to struggle with a foreign culture and language have something to do with it... So SS, am I truly happy or just smileing for the camera? It is mixed. There are times when I want to just return to Sweden (not considering all the things I detested about the country and situation), and there are times I really see the opportunities and possibilities of being here in MN; it is that good old double-edged sword. So the situation boils down to her doing that "thinking" to see if things do have the potential to be better between us. I still feel my move over the "big blue pond" was the best thing I could do to "stand on my own two feet;" even though it means not seeing the kids until next summer. I hope I can show her that putting me back in my own environment with the heaps of education and experience I have will make me truly an individual she'll want to spend the rest of her life with. And, if not, there isn't a lot I can do about it, but stay positive and stay a good friend!
