What book was that??? Can you share the name an author?

Matilde .... when I say "WS" .... I am refering to my "wayward son" ..... just so you know.

The book was sent to me by SS because I expressed an interest in studying "values" .... and learning how to express and communicate to my WS that having values and living by one's standard of values actually is key to having a happy life!

Values are not restrictive, they are freeing.

Look how miserable people become when they abandon their values.

For instance, if we value our health, we recognize our personal responsibility not to inhale poisonous gasses into our lungs. While this value ( our personal responsibility to maintain our health) may seem restrictive and constraining, it's a lot less restrictive than lung disease. It's more likely we'll have a happy life if we are not burdened with a chronic self-inflicted illness.

The title of the book is:

Standing For Something .... 10 neglected virtues that will heal our hearts and homes

Authored by:

Gordon B. Hinckly ..... he is the leader of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, LDS (Mormon)

I've only read the "forward" so far .... written by Mike Wallace (TV show 60 Minutes). Mr Wallace went to interview Mr. Hinckley with many pre-conceived ideas, afterward, they formed admiration for each other.

I am not LDS, I'm not sure if SS is LDS ..... the book looks wonderful.

The chapters look interesting:

5. Learning: With all thy getting get understanding

I'll start reading this a little later today.

I figured anyone wanting to study the virtues needed better access to the materials.
