The book arrived yesterday.
*******THANK YOU*******
I'm grateful. I'm pleased.
This may very well inspire some fruitful and creative discussions with WS.

Matilde .... when I say "WS" .... I am refering to my "wayward son" ..... just so you know.
The book was sent to me by SS because I expressed an interest in studying "values" .... and learning how to express and communicate to my WS that having values and living by one's standard of values actually is key to having a happy life!
Values are not restrictive, they are freeing.
Look how miserable people become when they abandon their values.
For instance, if we value our health, we recognize our personal responsibility not to inhale poisonous gasses into our lungs. While this value ( our personal responsibility to maintain our health) may seem restrictive and constraining, it's a lot less restrictive than lung disease. It's more likely we'll have a happy life if we are not burdened with a chronic self-inflicted illness.
The title of the book is:
Standing For Something .... 10 neglected virtues that will heal our hearts and homes
Authored by:
Gordon B. Hinckly ..... he is the leader of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, LDS (Mormon)
I've only read the "forward" so far .... written by Mike Wallace (TV show 60 Minutes). Mr Wallace went to interview Mr. Hinckley with many pre-conceived ideas, afterward, they formed admiration for each other.
I am not LDS, I'm not sure if SS is LDS ..... the book looks wonderful.
The chapters look interesting:
Part One .... The Ten Virtues
1. Love: The Lodestar of life 2. Where there is honesty, other virtues follow 3. Making a case for morality 4. Our fading civility 5. Learning: With all thy getting get understanding 6. The twin virtues of forgiveness and mercy 7. Thrift and industry: Getting our houses in order 8. Gratitude: A sign of maturity 9. Optimism in the face of cynicism 10. Faith: Our only hope
Part Two ... The Gardians of Virtue
Marriage: What God hath joined together The Family: We can save our nation by saving our homes Epilogue: The lonliness of moral leadership
I'll start reading this a little later today.
It was very generous and thoughtful for SS to send this book my way.
SS's and Mrs. SS ..... thank you!

I figured anyone wanting to study the virtues needed better access to the materials.
Pepper, you help a lot of people, I hope you someday understand just how much. Thanks to you too.

Hi Pepper, here's Wangi-Blah34's BS, you know I used to read your replies to Blah's post, very strong and "useful", (but I haven't seen your postings lately.. )too bad, Blah can't seem to understand...the part about virtue would be good for Blah, I think, Blah "used" to be honest and virtous..now the old Blah is gone, gone, gone...will any book or anybody can help him?(if he didn't seem to want help?!)Thanks Pepper.

Pepper:
He sent me a book too, recently. Probably not the same one, because I keep laughing my a$$ off!
Thanks, SS. I owe you one. I even have it in mind, if I can find a copy (it's out of print). It'll hurt your sides, I guarantee.
