Ark,
Since I've driven you positively nuts with all my wavering back and forth and being so hard to convince of ANYTHING, and I'm sure you've considered never responding to any of my posts ever again, I had to share this statement of yours I found in someone else's thread:
I was dramatic and selfish...and good at breaking glass-ware
This is a sad statement to admit, but I also was very talented in that department (glass-breaking) in my earlier years of marriage, though it's slacked as time has passed. I once tossed a Corelle plate THREE times before it finally shattered.
I have also considered picking up cheap dishes at garage sales and keeping them stocked in my basement just so that when I had one of my "moments", I could run down there by myself and toss a few at the concrete walls and not waste any of my good stuff.
Totally off track on the infidelity forum, I know....

I'm still mad at myself for the time I broke my antique bean pot... you know the old fashioned clay pots that are a pretty brown glazed color....
what was I thinking!!!
Perfect example that people can change.. change actions behavior and even control impulses...
oh to be the drama queen again... truth is it was too much work... too much work being that escalated.. too much energy feeling sorry for my childish behavior.. too much energy cleaning up the dam glass..!!
I am so glad that my husband and I have figured out much more productive ways to argue and problem solve...
Good thing we lived on six acres with no close neighbors then... what would they have thought??!!!
you know the thing about breaking something tangable...is that it really is an emotional release...but it is rather destructive...and doesn't solve a thing...
it's kind of funny to think of it taking three attempts to break to correlle-ware... I guess third time really is a charm..

OK, you two have single-handedly cheered up my Friday. Right after reading your posts, and smiling, and laughing, I looked out my window at what looked to be an overcast, dreary, gray day.
And what did I see? Sunshine. Gleaming off the trees (well, bare tree trunks), other houses, and shining bright on their windows.
Thank you, girls. I'm going to have a great Friday.
Amy

You know, that particular incident was nearly 15 years ago and I can still remember it. My birthday, terrible migraine, and when H had called and I said I had a headache, he interpreted it as "stay away, she wants to be left alone." WRONG interpretation on my B-day.
Problem was, by the time I'd tossed the darn plate 2 times, the whole point I was trying to make in my childish way was sort of lost, and by that time, I was going to throw it one more time just to prove I could break the darned thing.
Warning--Corelle, if you've not broken it, is like spring-loaded. It doesn't break into a dozen pieces (especially not when frisbie'd at 100mph). It breaks into a million. I was still picking little slivers of plate out of odd places like our fish aquarium a year later!
