I am home from work today and extremely stressed out. My stepson's girlfriend is having a baby right now. It is a baby boy.

There have been lots of problems through the pregnancy. Through ultrasound the baby has been diagnosed with polycystic kidney disease. That means one kidney is not working and will have to be removed.

There is also a possiblility that the baby has Down's syndrome. That is because his femurs are short, and that is common with Down's babies.

So please pray for him and my stepson and the mom. They are very young - 20 and 21. Please pray for a good outcome. Mom went to the hospital today at 9:00AM to be induced.

She is so uniqie and sweet. My SIL has arranged in her area at least that if someone has a downs baby they get info and a support group number to call. I do the buddy walk every year that I can go my wife went with me last time and we had a good time my SIL has a great picture of my W and I together. Anyways I will pray for your family.

Every child is a blessing, no matter how difficult the birth and circumstances.

I have a sister who is mentally and physically handicapped (not Down's, but at about that level of ability).

I have a daughter who was born three weeks early (not quite a preemie) and at a low birthweight. She is, as near as we can tell at 15 months, fine-to-precocious. And a terror. And a delight.

DD was induced, too. Pitocin with NO PAINKILLERS. <img border="0" title="" alt="[Eek!]" src="images/icons/shocked.gif" /> This much I know about WP; she is as strong as ANYONE when it comes to pain. The doctors and nurses were absolutely amazed that she did it. 15 hours of labor and she was absolutely incredible the whole time.

So yes, I'll pray for them. And I know that there are blessings, there, too.

My prayers are with you. Try to find peace in God's will, we have no idea what he has in store for us, but it's always for good.

Well, baby was FINALLY born and is fine, except for only having one kidney that works. But from what I've read online, he will be okay.

Wow, I forgot how stressful it is waiting for a little one. We feel really blessed. Thanks for all of your prayers.

We were told that our 9 month old baby would be blind, crippled, and have cerebral palsy. We were told this the day before Thanksgiving. I became a believer and prayed for the health of my baby. Well, she is none of those things now but has been diagnosed with "developmental delay". Her pediatrician calls her a miracle and she's doing great. Anything can happen with God on your side. My prayers are with you.

Thanks everyone. We are going out to the hospital to see him this morning. I couldn't get to sleep last night because of all of the excitement.

I think I will feel better when I see him. You know the dril - count his fingers, toes, etc.

Believe,

Congratulations! How did the visit go? I would have cried (I did with mine) and I will just bet he is beautiful. A gift from God. Nothing in the world like grandchildren.
