The upper penninsula of Michigan, on Lake Superior, the most beautiful lake in the world. Last night I sat out and watched Heron's feed their babies.
And you haven't seen anything til youv'e seen the "northern lights"!

ML -
Why do all Texans swear there are trees in that brown, flat state?? I drove Route 40 - thru Amarillo - definitely no trees - did see lots of amardillos - they match the scenery - brown!

Ok, ML, I'm here....as a fellow Texan! Now, now....there is plenty of natural beauty in Texas (particularly where ML lives).....come visit during wildflower season...
I have lived outside of the state (and did fall in love with California while I was there for school, although that state is also associated with great heartbreak for me...both of my WH A's are associated with CA! )....
Ok, we may not have trees like they do up North (although GO to the Piney Woods area...there ARE trees there..really!) But we also have 70 degree weather...in December.
Thanks for making me laugh, y'all!

KiwiJ, That's why we get along so well. Different countries but similar backgrounds and lifestyles.
cwmac at the beach with shades------>
Still like those Wayfairers from the 80's but have to be cool with Oakleys.

CWMAC - you made me think of Don Henley's song "Boys of Summer". Could that be you on that beach???

CW, H and I wore wayfarers for years.
I don't suit the "modern" ones.
Did you wear Beachcomber sneakers? They were SO cool.
BTW, Anyname, hmmm what are Australians famous for? Gosh, I can't think of anything. Oh, OK, you've got some reasonable beaches. Did you know that Narrabeen beach is mentioned in the Beach Boys song "Surfin USA."?
