This is funny. Remember when my first copy of this book turned out to be defectively bound (such that the whole discussion in the last chapter on sex & death & spirituality was missing)? You said I should write to the publisher and send it back and they would probably send me a new one.

That was January--I did, and they did. Nice note from the production person, too.

So just the other day, the same day I recommended that book (yet again) to someone here, ANOTHER copy comes in the mail, with a note from the same lady saying she didn't remember whether she had responded to my earlier request about the defective book. She also sent "another book you might enjoy": _The_Monogamy_Myth_.

While I do not think I will enjoy that book at all, given my values, I may read it just to see what scientists are now saying to justify all kinds of bad behavior, equating mankind with animals. (Still, I will respond to her note, thanking her.)

I think I will keep that extra copy of _Passionate_Marriage_ on hand. Karma will dictate who receives it as a gift. Funnily enough, a friend of mine has an extra copy as well--she loaned it to me when I discovered mine defective, so that I could read about sex and death without delay.
