Last night I contacted one of my WW's aunts. I knew that she had been through some kind of crisis in her marriage once, but did not know anything about it. I spoke with her for a long time. She was very kind, and she invited me to tell her everything that has happened. She was shocked to hear about the sparrow's behavior ("This just doesn't sound like [WW] at all.") and very sympathetic toward me. She seemed to understand how much I'm hurting in a way WW seems unable to. She told me she is a FWW, but could not cause her husband such pain and stopped it and worked on her M. I don't know how serious her affair was, but she said she was never anywhere near as far gone as the sparrow is.

She plans to talk with the sparrow, but repeated several times what I already know. Sparrow says she is DONE with me, auntie thinks this is a terrible mistake but also knows she can't persuade WW to change. She just plans to listen and try to get WW to open up. She said several times that she knows exactly where sparrow's head is. She's in euphoria and insanity and does not see her actions as destructive and cruel, but rather inevitable and just unfortunate for the two BSes.

She asked, "If she was to come back at this point, how would you get over this?" I said I didn't know, but I would try with everything I had. I said if WW has a change of heart the day before the D is final I'll try. She said, "Boy, you really love her, don't you?" I can't see how a conversation between them, should one occur, can be a bad thing. Unlikely to change sparrow's mind, yes, but definitely not a detriment.

Hope springs eternal; meanwhile I seek peace and prepare for the next bump in the road.

Hi Gray,

I think that is a good idea. It may give you a little more perspective. So Sorry for your pain.

I'm so glad something positive came out of the calls last night. I was thinking about you and your situation earlier today. I guess I'm lucky (if you can use that word in our situations) that WS is careful not be be cruel to me (well other then the A, lies, cheating and deceipt) and has yet to bring up the D word.

Hopefully, now you will at least have more people on your side looking out for you.
