I calmed down where I'm not hysterical. I guess the first thing I need to do is get an attorney. My in-laws want to look over the papers. They are in three forms. 1-the summons 2-Complaint for divorce (which he asking for sole ownership of our business together. 3-joint preliminary injuction-where he already broke by cleaning out our joint account on anniversary back on Thursday. Papers were dated July 9th.
My in-laws are very very unhappy, on what my Wh has done.
My thoughts are he is married to OW. I know in Las Vegas, you can get divorce and married again in less than a day.
My heart is breaking. I was feeling so strong and confident on Saturday. The last two days I didn't even cry, boy I'm making up for it now.
He did send me a letter, not even handwritten, basically blaming me for the breakdown of our marriage. He said I repeated said "Being married doesn't men you have to be happy." I never said that.
He ask me if I was unhappy once and my reply was "I'm happy being married and enjoying life with you, I'm not happy that I work two jobs and don't have enough free time"
He did mention my two jobs and reason for the breakdown of our marriage. I work two jobs, because he didn't have one and I financially help him try to make a go of his business. Now he wants sole ownership of it.
I have alot to think about and also trying to find a good attorney, I know they are costly and I have all the bills to pay around here. He basically abandoned me emotionally, physically and finacially.
Just when I started to put the pieces of my heart together again, it gets smash to pieces.
What about contacting him?, My mind saids no. I have 20 days after my summons to do something about this.

Also he gave the reason why he didn't sit down and talked this out with me. He said he was afraid I would try to commit suicide over this or do some bodily harm to myself. Oh Please, Give me a break, the fog must be really thick.
Gee whiz, the OW divorce just became final, she must really applied the pressure for him to filed, since he couldn't do anything for 18 months here in state of New Jersey.

is it really truly possible for someone to get married and their divorce not be final?
to the best of my knowledge, no D has been filed by my H but my H and the OW just went on a trip last week to colorado to see some of his family and nevada isn't that much further to go. i didn't know you could file for a D in a state that you didn't even live in. H and OW live in florida.
i'm sorry for your pain, i don't have any words to say only that most of us will pray for you and that we need the same prayers.

According to the papers he has lived in Clark County, Nevada for six weeks, there has to be a legal way of doing so, maybe opening a P.O. Box, because he has be ordering things for our business and having drop ship to his mail box here in town, so he is still in the area. (which is NJ)
Maybe when I get an attoney he will shed some light on this.

Get yourself an attorney and countersue him. Since he states in his summons that he is a resident of NV, and NV is a community property state, you are entitled to 50% of everything including the business.
Good Luck.

I have to go and find an attorney. I don't know how he could be a resident of Nevada when he lives here in NJ. There has to be a legal loophole somewhere. Do I have to go to Vegas to contest? I guess that ia a question for the attoney.
He wasn't even man enough to talked to me face to face about this. He didn't attempt to call. Didn't want to wait even six months of separation.
If this is the right decision for him, then he should have not had a problem facing me face to face. There must be alot of guilt. He is a wimp and coward to do such a low handed thing. A Vegas Divorce.
Then to blame me in a computer typed letter.
I will contest or countersue, but I know its going to be costly.

A couple of quick comments...
1) That's just wrong! I'm sorry you got such a cold-hearted slap in the face. <img border="0" title="" alt="[Frown]" src="images/icons/frown.gif" />
2) Though it is possible to get divorced and remarried here in NV in a very short time, that would require both parties to actually consent to the Divorce. So, though he might be desperately trying to marry this OW, there's no way he could have when you didn't even know about the Divorce yet.
3) Joint Preliminary Injunction - What date were the papers filed and on record at the court? Is that the 9th? If so (and maybe it doesn't even matter), and he "liqudated" joint property in any way (emptying the joint account, selling something owned by both of you, etc.), well then, what an ignorant and/or "foggy-minded" man he is.
Best of luck to you.

When I was looking into a Nevada divorce, I found out you had to be a resident of that state for at least 6 weeks.
I don't think having a post office box there qualifies as being a resident. Something is fishy.

Believer, On the summons it said the Plaintiff was and for at least six weeks prior to the commencement of this action, is a resident of Clark County, Nevada with the intention of making the State of Nevada his permanent domicile for the foreseeable future.
I know he has been around the New Jersey area. He actually clean out his stuff out of his parents basement. Of couse when his parents were away. They haven't seen him for three or four months.
I can't believe how he went about this. Why the quickie divorce. I know it had to be the OW, now that her D is final. What is the rush. Is she afraid he might come out of his fog?
I will get an attorney and see what he has to say about this. I don't have an address of my WH.
My MIL has given this to the Lord. She said she knows it harder for me. She told me she loves me and I'm a part of this family.
I can't believe how he went about this, plus cleaning out our joint account 5 days after the papers were filed. I'm pretty sure the attorney can get him on that.
I don't know how much I will be able to contest this. Money is a major issue. He doesn't have any and I'm paying all the bills.
I just know I will not lower myself to his and the OW standards. God will have a say in all this.

My MIL told me seek legal advice, but she doesn't like the idea of contesting the Divorce. Just because she feels I will be wasting my money. She said that he is just wasting his life away, she disagrees on how he going about things and the best thing for me to do is pray about it and start living life for me.
She also said give him the business we co-own, it is his only form of income and she said he probably won't be able to make a go of the business. He will run it into the ground, even with the OW helping him. She doesn't have much faith in the two of them.
I just feel I should not just lay down and let my marriage die. Its only been 4 months since the separation.
She doesn't see him changing anytime soon. They haven't seen him since April. He has lost contact with his family. The OW is all that matters. He is a puppet with her holding the strings. The family is against everything he is doing and its breaking their heart what he is doing to me.
The problem is I have is that I have twenty days to take some action. Twenty days to erase what it took 14 years to built.
