best i can do is pray for all those involved and say that you need to counsel w/SH immediately. call and get an appointment before the timeframe they gave you is up. that's all i can say w/out knowing more about your situation (kids, length of marriage, religious background of parents, etc.). just like you would be trying to convince your H and how difficult that would be, it's just as hard to explain to family and friends about what you are doing. hopefully others will come on board and give some additional advice.

SH told me to say to people who question what i'm doing "i can't in good conscience walk away from something i know could be better." and maybe the best way to explain to them is that he is in an addiction or that he's sick. if your child was sick you just wouldn't give up on them. it's unfortunate that they are reacting the way they are. i would find out if they can really foreclose on you if you still make the payments and maybe you can get something in place so that this can't happen. don't know, i think i'm out of my league here.

continued prayers to you, RR

PS. things get really slow here around this time through the weekend so don't panic if you don't get many replies. i'm sure you have a church to go to, go to your pastor for advice. and follow my advice and call focus on the family, they deal w/this stuff everyday http://family.org and can help put you in touch w/the necessary resources.

Pemberley,

It is really hard for a parent to stand by if they see their child get hurt. As far as your Mom and Dad are concerned, you will always be there baby and they are going to want to protect you. That is why they are doing what they are doing.

I also exposed my H's EA to family (his and mine) and I regret it because it did not help at all. My family was angry and my H's family didn't know what to say or do. They kind of retreated from me, but that is okay. I have learned my lesson and I will never again expect any help from anyone.

RR made a good suggestiong. Tell you Mom and Dad that you love your H and you cannot just walk away from a marriage that you believe can be recovered into a good marriage again. Tell them that you appreciate their concern and their support, but you wish to recover your marriage if possible. It is not fair to give you ultimatums, especially under the current circumstances. Nothing good ever happens when decisions are made while all parties involved are so emotional.

Good luck to you!

Kati
