I just wanted to share this with you who have been so patient as to answer my questions and posts on this site.
Today would have been my son's 14th birthday (previous M). But he died when he was 6 weeks old (meningitis) so all I have are memories. It's harder this year - I guess because getting over an A is also like grieving, and the two miscarriages I had in 2001 also added to the pain. I have no children and considering my age (43) I will never have any. I just feel so sad about this today.
My H is really wonderful. It's DH again to me <img border="0" title="" alt="[Smile]" src="images/icons/smile.gif" /> and I'm thankful for that.
Those of you who are suffering from the results of an A - if you have children, please remember what treasures they are. Let them give you the strength to get through your pain or guilt.

Brownhair, twelve years ago I comforted my father on his deathbed. Just him and me. I had just told him that my W was pregnant with our first child, she had a positive test only an hour before I went to the hospital to tell him. He beamed and said " well done you two !" and slipped back into unconsciousness.
He weakened over the next hour and I cried. My Dad pulled himself out of his sleep one last time, held my hand and said " Don't cry son, its supposed to happen this way". I kissed him, and he slipped away to God.
I wondered what he meant at the time, but having attended the furneral of a child I now know.
It is not the natural order of things for a parent to bury a child. it is not right, nor is it a fully recoverable event IMO. A long life ended can be celebrated, a young life taken can never be.
Brownhair, the holes your children have riven in your soul will never heal, you will just have to divert around them as you live your life.
I will make my children's dinner shortly with the love of all parents and a tear in my eye for your lost babies Brownhair.
Be blessed. {{{ brownhair }}}

Thank you, Weaver and Bob. I guess that is exactly what my little one would have told me if he could - "Don't cry mommy, it's supposed to happen this way".
