Just wondering how how your WS ended things with the OP? I know the ideal way would be to send the NC letter but not all WS do this I am sure.

I think that most take the carribean cruise option. <img border="0" title="" alt="[Roll Eyes]" src="images/icons/rolleyes.gif" /> <img border="0" title="" alt="[Big Grin]" src="images/icons/grin.gif" />
Mine hasn't ended hers yet but I have seen many do it over the phone. And some go in person (BAD IDEA). But really the letter is the only way to do it effectively and with the least risk to BS and WS.
The letter allows the BS to approve exactly what is being relayed to the OP. This should help keep the BS from feeling like a clear message has not been conveyed. As well, it keeps the WS physically out of harms way, and thus the BS emotionally out of harms way.
