I'm not saying POJA can't happen to any degree..just that we can not negotiate the circumstances.
Our littlest one has hit the nightly nutsies. No help for it. It won't be better for another month at least. Until then my evening is spent nursing, rocking, walking, jiggling, cooing at, and just generally tolerating him. It lasts from about 5pm to midnight[ish]..then he has a long period of sleep..too late for H and I to enjoy. I usually just fall into a zombified stupor gratefull to rest my head for a few hours before getting on this crazy whirlygig of fun all over again. H has usually gone to bed long before this miracle known as a restfull infant occurs.
H doesn't like the fussing..doesn't like that it takes most of my attention and most certainly doesn't like my suggestion, that if he were to participate more, rather than hide..things would go more smoothly and allow me to offer at least a few minutes undistracted while DS2 fretfully rests.
I have removed all nonessential tasks from the night.
Kids have their bath earlier and if need be..the damn dishes can wait 'til morning..I don't like it..but I'll take sleep over clean dishes any day of the week at this point.
I would like suggestions for how to approach this as neither of us are getting our needs met, which is never good. If I'm missing something please point it out. I'm OK with just waiting it out, but H seems to be taking it personally.
How can this be resolved..ideas?

Hi, noodle.
I hate to ask such an obvious question, but have you asked for his help?

Noodle,
Hope my last post wasn't offensive. I was just wondering how old your baby is. Wonder if you can keep him up and let him take an earlier nap during the day so he will conk out earlier in the evening.
If he is older than 6 months, maybe you can look into a product called: Camilia. It is put out by a company called Boiron. Primarily it is for teething. It comes in a clear tube that you just squirt in their mouth and it tastes like water. It contains Chamomilla which helps calm and help numb a child when they are teething. It can also be used for older children who experience a tooth ache when their permanent teeth start coming in.
As for your H, what chore can he help you with around the house so that you are free to put the baby to sleep? Maybe let him help out with a simple meal once a week, help the kids with their homework, etc. Make him feel useful and productive. Then maybe he can pick out something he'd like to see you wear when the 2 of you have some time alone!
Now this post may make you blush.
