Are their any resources or web sites I could consult? or do you have to just try each one out until you find one that is helpful? I can't afford to waste visits!

This is my first post here. Help! We need counseling.

I doubt this will happen in your case, but ya never know.

What I did was go in the phone book and start at the top of the list, first 12 calls I got machines or something, 13th call someone answered, I talked awhile to his secretary (W) and he called back when he was done with his client. Now, I did make calls after this one, but still no answers? Anyway, when he called back we got to talking a long while on the phone, turns out he does this from his house, he owns 2 businesses that pay for everything, he said he felt like he was called by God to help people in a M crisis, so he went and got his degree. At this time my wife was still in our house and she asked me to ask him "how much?". He told me he charged $45 a session, and a session lasted as long as it needed to, but to not worry about the money, he didnt do it for the money.

When we were leaving his office the first time he asked us to come up with a dollar amount that we thought we could do easily, he said it was our first assignment. Well, we never went back, my W decided shed rather leave, tonight I go to him for the first time by myself, and again he told me not to worry about the money.

I felt, that since this was the only guy to even call back, and all of the stuff about God and money and everything, I feel he was the one chosen to help me or something, as he also does IC.

Sorry I couldnt be of more "advice" oriented, but you never know, you might have an angel out there waiting for your call.

I looked up providers on my insurance website. I took the one that would see me the next day. Only been 2 times so far but my MC seems to know what is going on and what to do.

The one thing that I was told to watch out for is a counselor that ignores God. I am not religous at all but I do believe in God.

It ended up that my MC sees people out of a church a couple of times a week in addtion to using his office on the other days.

God guides when listened to.

MC not covered by mine either LOL

I went originally for IC, my intent got hijacked and MC worked out a diagnosis that I think will end up being covered by insurance. He calls it family counseling not marriage counseling. I dunno know, just hope it works for me.
