I didn't want to thread-jack Freddy's thread but some of the stuff StephanieOW said in her email was exactly what I was going to start a thread on anyways.
I'm currently seperated from my WW and engaged in legal proceedings.
My personal opinion is that getting into deeply personal conversations (whether online or not) with members of the opposite sex can be dangerous if either party is currently in a relationship.
Speaking from experience (very recent in fact)...
Turns out this new years I was at a party and there was this woman I have known since I was in high school. In fact I knew that she had a "crush" on me way back when we were just kids. Well over the years I generally tried to avoid having much contact with her other than polite small talk. Mainly because we were both married.
Well at this party we started to get into to a deep conversation about some pretty personal stuff in both her and my life. This conversation continued for a while and I began to feel some mutual chemistry between us and it started to scare me. Then I triggered huge and became really uncomfortable. I backed way off and basically avoided her for the rest of the evening.
My marriage is all but over to me (all but the official documents being signed) but I don't want to get into any relationship yet and I certainly don't want to screw up anyone else's marriage after going through what I've been through.
I had always avoided flirting or getting into deep conversations with the opposite sex when I was married but now I'm trying to make sure I'm "out there", and trying to find myself.
I guess I didn't realize just how easy this could happen until now.
Proceed with caution when having friendships with the opposite sex, they can be dangerous!
