I'm looking for good songs with the message that the WS will be sorry when it's all over and they chose not to come out of the fog and save their marriage.

Like:
Clay Walker's "Then What"
Keith Urban's "You'll Think of Me"
Derks Bentley's "How Am I Doin'?"

If you know of any others please let me know. I'd like to burn a "feel good" cd.

Thanks

JoDee Messina - Lesson in Leavin'

JoDee Messina - My Give a Damn's Busted (this one is new - if it's out, it's only as a single, or you can track down the Joe Diffie version of it, but I don't think that version is as good!)

Not sure if this one quite fits into your category, but I know I've really liked it:
Jimmy Wayne - Stay Gone

So far, sounds like a great cd. Post the final playlist! I think I have all the songs to put this one together myself so far.

Since U Been Gone, by Kelly Clarkson is a good song and I adopted "Fighter" by Christina Aquilera as my anthem because I am a fighter and I'm stronger today then I was yesterday. Plus he is missing out on the new and improve me and he rather be with a homewrecking and malipulating woman. His loss.

When I, thought I knew you
Thinking, that you were true
I guess I, I couldn't trust
'Cause your bluff time is up
'Cause I've had enough
You were, there by my side
Always, down for the ride
But your, joy ride just came down in flames
'Cause your greed sold me out of shame, mmhmm

After all of the stealing and cheating
You probably think that I hold resentment for you
But, uh uh, oh no, you're wrong
'Cause if it wasn't for all that you tried to do
I wouldn't know just how capable I am to pull through
So I wanna say thank you

'Cause it makes me that much stronger
Makes me work a little bit harder
It makes me that much wiser
So thanks for making me a fighter
Made me learn a little bit faster
Made my skin a little bit thicker
Makes me that much smarter
So thanks for making me a fighter

Oh, ohh

Never, saw it coming
All of, your backstabbing
Just so, you could cash in
On a good thing before I realized your game
I heard, you're going around
Playing, the victim now
But don't, even begin
Feeling I'm the one to blame
'Cause you dug your own grave, uh huh

After all of the fights and the lies
Yes you wanted to harm me but that won't work anymore
Uh, no more, oh no, it's over
'Cause if it wasn't for all of your torture
I wouldn't know how to be this way now, and never back down
So I wanna say thank you

'Cause it makes me that much stronger
Makes me work a little bit harder
Makes me that much wiser
So thanks for making me a fighter
Made me learn a little bit faster
Made my skin a little bit thicker
It makes me that much smarter
So thanks for making me a fighter

Oh god there are so many.

Johnny Cash - "Cry, Cry, Cry"

Everybody knows where you go when the sun goes down.
I think you only live to see the lights of town.
I wasted my time when I would try, try, try.
When the lights have lost their glow, you're gonna cry, cry, cry.

I lie awake at night and wait 'til you come in.
You stay a little while and then you're gone again.
Every question that I ask, I get a lie, lie, lie.
For every lie you tell, you're gonna cry, cry, cry.
You're gonna cry, cry, cry and you'll cry alone,
When everyone's forgotten and you're left on your own.
You're gonna cry, cry, cry.

Soon your sugar-daddies will all be gone.
You'll wake up some cold day and find you're alone.
You'll call to me but I'm gonna tell you: "Bye, bye, bye,"
When I turn around and walk away, you'll cry, cry, cry,

When your fickle little love gets old, no one will care for you.
You'll come back to me for a little love that's true.
I'll tell you no and you gonna ask me why, why, why?
When I remind you of all of this, you'll cry, cry, cry.

You're gonna cry, cry, cry and you'll cry alone,
When everyone's forgotten and you're left on your own.
You're gonna cry, cry, cry.

You're gonna cry, cry, cry and you'll want me there,
It'll hurt when you think of the fool you've been.
You're gonna cry, cry, cry.

Sorry, the song I meant to post was lovin, touchin, squeezin by Journey

You make me weep and wanna die, just when you said we'd try
Lovin', touchin', squeezin' each other
When I'm alone, all by myself, your out with someone else
Lovin', touchin', squeezin' each other

You're tearing me apart, every every day
You're tearing me apart, oh what can I say
You're tearing me apart

It won't be long yet, 'til you're alone
When your lover, oh he hasn't come home
'Cos he's lovin', ooh he's touchin', he's squeezin' another

He's tearin' you apart, oh every every day
He's tearin' you apart, oh girl what can you say
'Cos he's lovin', touchin' another, now it's YOUR TURN, girl, to cry

another good one I like thats new is by alicia keys...it's appropriatly called "karma"

Oh Oh Oh Oh..

Weren't you the one who said that you don't want me anymore?
And how you need your space and give the keys back to your door

And how I cried and tried and tried to make you stay with me
But still you said the love was gone and that I had to leave

Bridge:
Now you're
Talking about a family
Now you're
Say that I complete your dream
Now you're
Saying I'm your everything
You're confusing me, what you're saying to me
Don't play with me, don't play with me cause

Ref:
What goes around comes around
What goes up must come down
Now who's crying, desiring to come back to me
What goes around comes around
What goes up must come down
Now who's crying, desiring to come back to me

I remember when I was sitting home alone
Waiting for you
To 3 o'clock in the morn'

And when you came home you always had some sorry excuse
And explaining to me like I was some kind of a fool
I sacrifice the things I want just to do things for you
But when it's time to do for me
You never come trough

Bridge

Ref

I remember when I was sitting home alone
Waiting for you
To 3 o'clock in the morn'
Night after night knowing something's going on
What's that number for .......

Lord knows it wasn't easy believe me
Never thought you'd be the one that would deceive me
And never do what you're supposed to do
No need to punch me boo cause I won't play you cause

What goes around comes around
What goes up must come down
Now who's crying, desiring to come back to me

What goes around comes around (yeah)
What goes up must come down
Gotta stop trying to come back to me

What goes around comes around
What goes up must come down
Please come home my baby
And it goes around

What goes around comes around
What goes up must come down
Now who's crying, desiring to come back to me?

I sent this to LINY (my H) and it really goes both ways for us .... It made him really think about the "pain" he caused

Sometimes lyrics do say alot .........

Hooberstank – The Reason

I’m not a perfect person

There are many things I wish I didn’t do

But I continue learning

I never meant to do those things

And so I have say before I go,

that I just want you to know

I’ve found a reason for me,

to change who I used to be

A reason to start over new,

and the reason is you

I’m sorry that I hurt you,

it’s something I must live with everyday

And all the pain I put you through,

I wish that I could take it all away

And be the one who catches all your tears,

that’s why I need you to hear

I’m not a perfect person,

I never meant to do those things to you

And so I have to say before I go

that I want you to know

I’ve found a reason for me,

to change who I used to be

A reason to start over new,

and the reason is you

I’ve found a reason to show

a side of me you didn’t know

A reason for all that I do

And the reason is you

Good songs everyone, thanks. I knew there were a lot but was drawing a blank. I should be able to fill a CD pretty easily with these ideas. Keep 'em comin' everyone!

I have a great one. Well quite a few by Blu Cantrell:
Of course "Hit 'em up style" for WH. Mine HATES that's song.

quote:
Till I'm Gone Lyrics

[Verse 1]
I gave him love
I gave my all
I gave myself, I lost control
Held nothing back, I just let go
Now, I'm realizing, I've been all alone

[Hook]
He won't love me
Till I'm gone
But I don't want him
'Cause he's wrong wrong
Now he love me, 'cause I'm gone
But it's just too late
'Cause now I found someone

[Verse 2]
I'm looking
For an everlasting love
The kind that every girl dreams of
But every time you said you love me
Boy you lied
Now all I have for you
is goodbye

[Hook]

[Bridge]
Lord tell him something
'Cause he lost his mind
If I could rewind
I wouldn't give him the time
I'll take all this pain
And throw all away
But I realize
You ain't good enough for me

quote:
When I Needed You Lyrics

See it's a damn shame
You got caught up in the game
So much to offer
But so little to give
Now ya runnin' around
Tryin' to get down
With every trick in town
Tell me why you had me
Waitin by the phone all alone

[Hook:]
Oh I need a man
That wants all of me
'Cause I need to give someone
All of me
I don't wanna have
To ask where you were
When I needed you

Now I've tried and tried
To make you realize
That here's where you wanna be
But you didn't wanna listen to me
Yeah
Now I got somebody new
Who does all the things
That you didn't do
Could have been you
Baby, baby
Could have been you

[Hook:]
Oh I need a man
That wants all of me
'Cause I need to give someone
All of me
I don't wanna have
To ask where you were
When I needed you

[Bridge:]
I need someone
To take the pain away
Change the rain and the cloudy days
I hoped and prayed that person
Would be you
But baby when it's all said and done
I'm gonna be the only one
To take care of me
So look out for Blu

The promise of love
It came from my heart
Thought all that we shared
Would last forever
So where did things go wrong
What happened that made things fall apart
Why I just don't know

I used to call my own

[Chorus]
But I'll find a way
I'll get over you one day
I'll find a way
I'm gonna deal with all this pain
I'll find a way
'Cause I know that somewhere
My soul mate is waiting for me
Gonna make it through the day
I'll find a way

Silence gets so intense
Without you to share a word
I really miss your presence
This loneliness feels awkward
But I won't call you I refuse
I'd rather lay here by myself in the dark
Crying my heart out
I wish these tears could erase
All the memories of you but they can't

In time will fade away
When you told me good-bye
I felt so betrayed
Find the courage
To move on
One day I'll replace

As the board's self-proclaimed resident Pearl Jam expert/fanatic..... I've got a few recommendations. It seems as though infidelity added a bit to the 90's grunge angst....

Ten-1991
Black
Garden

Vitalogy-1994
Nothingman
Betterman
Immortality

Riot Act-2002
Save You

Lost Dogs-2003
Footsteps

But the grand champ:
From vs. - 1993

"rearviewmirror"

I took a drive today. Time to emancipate.
I guess it was the beatings, made me wise.
But I'm not about to give thanks or apologize.

I couldn't breathe. Holding me down.
Hand on my face. Pushed to the ground.
Enmity gauged. United by fear.
Forced to endure what I could not forgive.

I seem to look away. The wounds in the mirror waved.
It wasn't my surface. Most defiled.

Head at your feet. Fool to your crown.
Fist on my plate. Swallowed it down.
Enmity gauged. United by fear.
Tried to endure what I could not forgive. Yeah.

Saw things... (x4) ...clearer. (x2)
Oh, once you were in my Rearviewmirror.
I gathered speed from you f***ing with me.
Once and for all I'm far away.
Hard to believe. Finally the shades are raised. Hey, yea.
Saw things so much clearer once you, once you... Rearviewmirror.
Saw things so much clearer once you, once you... Rearviewmirror.
Saw things so much clearer once you, once you... Rearviewmirror.
Saw things so much clearer once you... Oh yeah.

Get on iTunes. Find a live version (there are about 15, any of them will do). The live version is amazing, because before the last verse, there is an extended bridge. You can honestly hear all of the emotions; anger, confusion, rage, disillusionment, bewilderment. Here's where it gets cool. The bridge sounds like it's beginning to break down. You can hear the music spinning...then things quiet down....and the song......rebuilds. It then slams the last verse. Very powerful to the betrayed.

One recommendation. Don't get charged up and drive to this song. You'll be going 100 before you know it.

It's a must.......

This is a GREAT ONE!

You'll Never Find Another Love Like Mine

-Artist: Lou Rawls

quote:
You'll never find, as long as you live
Someone who loves you tender like I do
You'll never find, no matter where you search
Someone who cares about you the way I do

Whoa, I'm not braggin' on myself, baby
But I'm the one who loves you
And there's no one else! No-oh-oh-oh-oh-oh-oh-oh one else

You'll never find, it'll take the end of all time
Someone to understand you like I do
You'll never find the rhythm, the rhyme
All the magic we shared, just us two

Whoa, I'm not tryin' to make you stay, baby
But I know some how, some day, some way
You are (you're gonna miss my lovin')
You're gonna miss my lovin' (you're gonna miss my lovin')
You're gonna miss my lovin' (you're gonna miss my lovin')
You're gonna miss, you're gonna miss my lo-o-ove

Whoa, oh, oh, oh, oh (you're gonna miss my lovin')
Late in the midnight hour, baby (you're gonna miss my lovin')
When it's cold outside (you're gonna miss my lovin')
You're gonna miss, you're gonna miss my lo-o-ove

<brief instrumental interlude>

You'll never find another love like mine
Someone who needs you like I do
You'll never see what you've found in me
You'll keep searching and searching your whole life through

Whoa, I don't wish you no bad luck, baby
But there's no ifs and buts or maybes

(You're gonna) You're gonna miss (miss my lovin')
You're gonna miss my lovin' (you're gonna miss my lovin')
I know you're gonna my lovin' (you're gonna miss my lovin')
You're gonna miss, you're gonna miss my lo-o-ove

Whoa, oh, oh, oh, oh (you're gonna miss my lovin')
Late in the midnight hour, baby (you're gonna miss my lovin')
When it gets real cold outside (you're gonna miss my lovin')
I know, I know that you are gonna miss my lo-o-ove

Let me tell you that you're gonna miss my lovin'
Yes you will, baby (you're gonna miss my lovin')
When I'm long gone
FADE
I know, I know, I know that you are gonna miss

I remembered in my sleep...

Gloria Gaynor
I will survive

However I do not have the time to look up the lyrics right now as I am running late it starts like this.

At first I was afraid, I was petrafied I thought that iI could never live with out you by my side. I spent so many nights just feeling sorry for myself, I grew strong, I learned how to get along.

GREAT SONG. I will try to look up the actual lyrics after work today!!
